Pros: I've had these since at least 2004.. maybe before that. These speakers get used daily for all manner of things. I've never had a problem with them, and I figured out that if you just loop the volume control dongle around the base of the monitor, its always right in front of you to use the control...
Cons: I'm not sure I have a con... the bass bothers neighbors in an apartment building. (This could be a positive or negative!) O.. and they don't email my mother for me.
Summary: I've replaced the small satellite speakers, though I still have them, with a couple standard powered PC speakers which I had gotten for free, and I have those hooked up because they have their own volume control, and I can adjust to my liking.
Pros: I originally bought these speakers back in 2004 for $20. They have good sound quality, and my bass is loud enough, I have to keep the subwoofer off the floor or the neighbors will complain. They're actually, the first speakers I'd ever bought.
Cons: For some reason, there's a lot of static when I change the volume and the right speaker likes to cut out, but messing with the volume slider normally fixes it. I don't know if the slider is dirty or what, but they have been that way for a while. If not for these issues with the volume slider and ...
Summary: I wanted small speakers to replace my altec lansing 4.1s but the difference in sound quality is just too much, I'll return these, but would still recommend for light music listening and gaming.
Pros: Sound quality is not bad. It has a decent amount of amplification and the speakers can handle some sound before distorting.
Cons: The sound is a little tinny, and it sounds like it's coming from a small speaker. The subwoofer doesn't reach too low but it's alright overall.
Summary: We bought this speaker system about 2 years ago, and about 6 months ago, the transformer blew up. It had never really been cranked up, and we had always kept it at low volume, so we just used a different transformer, and it works OK, but the transformer doesn't provide enough power to turn it up too...
Pros: Sound quality WAY above average for a 2.1 system. You have to hear it to believe it! Nice design, and cheap price.
Cons: Transformer blew up after only a a year and a half.
Summary: not a bad pair of speakers, I actually bought these at wally world and no the woofer will not overpower the 'lites...unless you turn it way up thru the equalizers.
Pros: Good Sound from 'lites and a nice bass sound, wired volume control
Cons: after about 7mo sound occationally fluctuates up and down a bit, but is not consistant. No control over the woofer except thru equalizers on your computer due to the control not having bass control.
