Highly recommended

WilbyMonk, Dooyoo

  • Excerpt: This is a set of 7.1 speakers designed to be connected to your PC's sound card. 7.1 means that you get 7 speakers with the .1 referring to the sub woofer which generates the bass. The sub woofer is the large box that connects to the mains and is designed to be kept out of sight under your desk.

Finally, the missing piece of my (multimedia) life is in place!

  • Excerpt: I have the beefy processor, complete with a rather impressive overclock i performed myself. I have the uber graphics card with the various fantasy based images on the box. I have all the other, less glamourous components working fine and to a very high standard.
  • Pros: A sledgehammer and penknife of sound combined, perfect for many situations
  • Cons: A good setup requires experimentation with position and is hard to perfect

  • Excerpt: To be quite honest, these are absolutely mind-blowing when you consider the price. They're mind-blowing when you don't consider the price too. I'm not sure how much mine cost as I 'inherited' them as it were.
  • Pros: Crystal clear sound, well designed and good looking .
  • Cons: Erm .  .  . are there any?

A mixed, but generally positive experience.

Bruce Ashbey, Amazon

  • Summary: I've owned this speaker system for the best part of a year now. A musician myself, it was bought after I decided I wanted surround sound - but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Spot on

  • Excerpt: I bought these speakers about a week ago from ebuyer.com for £57 (the OEM version), and am so far very impressed. I used to own a cheap set of 5.1 speakers, so upgrading to 7.1 seemed a good idea. It's useful to note that most films are only 5.1 so not all 7 speakers will get used.
  • Pros: Loud, crisp, don't distort
  • Cons: Have to be postitioned perfectly

  • Excerpt: The title reflects my first thoughts when I opened the OEM version of the speakers. The OEM version means that they are meant to come with a unbuilt or newly built computer and so arrive with nothing more than a sheet of paper telling you briefly what to do.
  • Pros: Easy to set up, looks nice, external volume control =D
  • Cons: Scarry when taken out of box (so many wires)

Not bad

A. Loh, Amazon
10 February 2006
  • Summary: For this price, the T7900 is not an unreasonable choice. The sound quality of the side and rear satellites is nothing special, but are backed up by some nice front/centre speakers and a solid subwoofer. Once you get them around your room working in unison they sound perfect.
