Summary: I recommend the tone setting around 1 o'clock, best balance of highs and lows there. Also, great speakers if you live in an apartment building, as the absence of a a sub diminishes sound transfer to your neighbors meaning you can turn em up louder.
Pros: Decent range for 2.0 speakers. Nice design. The speaker light fades after inactivity which is nice. Good for movies, netflix, games. casual music listening. Great if you're in a small studio apartment like me, and can't deal with a subwoofer at your feet and need to save space.
Cons: Bass response is just okay. I've listened to some lower range music on my old 2.1 speakers and could hear bass lines that I can't hear on these 2.0 speakers. You can still hear it, but you have to turn 'em up a bit, and even then it's not as pronounced.

Summary: I was expecting more sound coming out of these, as a midrange desktop speaker option. I was disappointed to find the sound is very thin and uninspiring compared to my now broken M-Audio AV30s that these replaced. The AV30s cost around $79 so they should perform better, but the gap was larger than anticipated. That said, these look good and are adequate for YouTube videos. If you want something for music, you could do better.
Summary: don't bother with these, pure trash, distorted bass, screechy highs and overall to big and bulky for the kind of sound it's delivering, you should just get the logitech z313 for the best bang for your buck
Summary: Surprisingly good sound for such small speakers. We set up the lap top and outputed the sound to these and it was way better than the TV speakers. A bit pricey but well made and you can run an Ipod like device thru them as they are self amplified (need to be plugged in to an adapter - included).
