nice speakers, nice price, but VERY awkward on/off...

Summary: I got these speakers originally to use with my little bookshelf stereo in my office since one of its speakers has gone bad. I didn't want to get some new system with multiple little speakers and a big bass box - for my office, two speakers are plenty. However, it was really hard to get these T40's to work with the stereo using the included adapter, which was just a little one-piece mp3-jack-to-dual-RCA-plug thing that didn't work with my stereo.
Pros: speakers sound great - and there are only TWO of them; nice price (especially with a rebate)
Cons: on-off switch is in a very very very awkward place on the back of one of the speakers where it is hard to reach; adapter for interface to a "normal" stereo system is not very useful
Excerpt: I purchased these Creative Gigaworks T40 after having a Logitech 2.1 sound system with a subwoofer which created so much bass it made my floor vibrate. This was the reason I needed to purchase some new speakers. So being sound crazy, I was going to find it tough to find a decent pair of 2.0 Speakers. Then I came across these Creative Gigaworks T40. Ive always been a fan of Creative products because they are always reliable, work well, and look good.
Summary: I bought these speakers 13 months ago and while I have never moved them from where I initally set them up (so no knocks) I'm sending them back for the second time. The top cone on the left speaker was unsecured when I got them first and after a day or two of use it literally collapsed into the main unit. I got a replacement within a week and they have been fine until about a month ago when the bass control stopped working and then the sound packed in altogether.
A stunning pair of speakers that really does deserve all the praise it gets.

Excerpt: I never used to consider getting a 2.0 speaker system for my PC, mainly because I was under the impression that they could not provide enough bass for my games and I would miss out on my directional speakers with my 5.1s. So when I went round a friend's house and heard a decent 2.0 speaker set up, I was amazed by its quality and how well the human brain can still tell where a sound comes from, despite only having two speakers, so I went ahead and purchased a pair for...
Summary: im v pleased with these, both in terms of looks and sound...in answer to others reviews they dont take up more footprint space than other pc speakers, theyre tall though - just 2 units with a very wide sound range and well balanced between the units...i find i dont have to adjust the bass or treble balance at all! miles davis's trumpet on 'Ascenseur Pour L'Echafaud' is stunning with the range and clarity its like hes right there in the room!
Summary: Most of the other reviewers have given the fine detail on these badboys - so I'll just sum it all up for you: They're big, they're full of bass, they look the business and my god do they sound good. Dont mess about, buy these now. You wont be disappointed!
