Summary: Add a sub-woofer of your choosing. =)
Pros: For a set just over $100 this is an amazing set. I've owned these for 3 years and regularly crank the volume to enjoy a wide range of music. The clarity is superb. I've not had a single issue with these speakers.
Summary: These are excellent speakers. I picked these up for 100 bucks on a daily deal, and don't regret it at all. I was set to pick up the t20's for 70 bucks, but I saw these for 100 and couldn't pass it up.
Pros: Three drivers, one high, two mids. Sound EXCELLENT, very warm sound.
Cons: Size, they're MASSIVE speakers. The width is perfect, but the height is pretty high.
Pros: As advertised. They shut off automatically, come back on w/a 4-sec delay with no problems. Can get mostly loud enough, clear full-range sound, tho the small woofers limit any bass, but I use these w/subwoofer (Pioneer 8") so the combo is just fine -- my previous speakers are now the L and R sides ...
Cons: Lack of deep bass, due to small woofers -- physics cannot be overcome.
Pros: I knew I'd fall in love with these speakers the second I go them out of the box. They were bigger than I expected and the power adapter looks very much like a laptop's. So, no wall wort and really good sound. Setup was what you'd expect. Speakers sound great. Overall, super happy with my purchase
Cons: If I were to quibble with it, it'd be that they we're somewhat expensive and are a bit too tall. I have them behind my monitors that are on an arm and and about 4 inches of them are covered by the monitors. Not a huge issue and didn't impact sound at all.
Pros: I bought these to use with my laptop computer. They provide full crisp sound. They fill my entire apartment and I have not turned them past 50% due to bothering the neighbors. The speakers seem well made and are beautiful to look at.
Summary: You absolutely will not regret getting this product. I luckily bought this while it was $80 off! Even if it was full price , It is still worth every penny. Definitely get what you pay for.
Pros: The beauty, the shine, the pristine look of these is beautiful beyond belief! The speakers, they called to me. Begging me to put them together with such ease. The sound , oh the sound. It's so sublime. I cried tears of joy as my ears listened to the most alluring sounds I've ever heard.
Cons: Putting a cons section for these speakers is blasphemy!
Pros: These really exceeded my expectations. Based on the pictures I thought these were going to be on the smaller side, but they're surprisingly large and heavy. The sound is really clear mated with my Sound Blaster Z.
Summary: Prices for T40's have stayed relatively constant these last 5-7 years. Paid roughly $120 for the first set and just paid $114 for this new set of T40's
Pros: I have a 5+ year old set of Creative T40 Gigaworks speakers purchased from Newegg which have performed perfectly to this day. When my son's hand me down pc finally died (Asus P6T motherboard finally picked up an annoying quirk of trashing it's o/s) and thru a process of swapping out parts we dete...
Cons: Newegg once again provides free shipping however it's "egg saver" versus standard UPS delivery. I hate egg-saver delivery simply because it takes over a week for delivery and this is a order coming just across the Hudson river in NJ. Broke my heart paying the extra $3 just to get UPS delivery ver...
Summary: I didn't care about the height. I also didn't need lots of bass. (To me, it just distorts the music.) But I did want a mute switch as this system is in my bedroom. It's nice being able to switch between no sound and sound without turning on the monitors.
Pros: 3 way system that does a nice job and looks good.
Cons: No separate mute switch. A little tall for some.
