these speakers aren't very powerful and really sound pretty poor. Hardly any bass response at all

Summary: Bought these for monitoring sound with a video editing system. Not impressed. these speakers aren't very powerful and really sound pretty poor. Hardly any bass response at all. I would expect this from a cheap set of $30 speakers, but not these for $80. I returned them and went with Behringer MS16 instead. For the same price, they put out a lot more power have a much more natural sound to them.
Summary: I just needed something to replace my old $20 budget speakers and these are about what I expected for the price. I would give it a better rating except for the flimsy connection which I have to Jiggle from time to time when one of the speakers won't play.
Summary: The sound is great, very clean, loud enough for 1-2 rooms. Not huge bass, will not rattle windows for hip hoppers or gamers, but fine for an audiophile, video watcher, etc. Bass & treble knobs, I prefer to preprogrammed EQ, or bass buttons, great. It has an external power brick, more clutter. Max speaker separation about 4', great for computer, maybe not home theaters. The volume / power knob is too small, slippery metal, and only protrudes about 5/16" from the face.
Summary: For the money, they are adequate. They are larger than I expected and not very loud for their size. But sound quality is adequate, and they look good. I considered a lot of speakers, including the $250 Bose Companion 2. I just could not wrap my head around spending that much money for speakers. These came in at the right balance of price and performance and appearance. I'd do it again.
Summary: *Amazon does not allow returns for this product because the speakers contain hazardous materials.* I had high hopes for these speakers, but after I set them up, I found that I could not get sound out of the left speaker unless the audio input jack was only partially inserted. It needed to be positioned in such a way that was stable only if I was holding it.
Summary: I bought these as I have a pair of insignia speakers that are great and loud for the size and price and very bassy which is a plus in small speakers. But I wanted a tone control or even better treble and Bass - many do not have this control. The CREATIVES speakers are crisp and well balanced and if you pump them they can be loud. They are not worth $100 in my opinion but are worth in the 50 - 70 range. Compact easy and clear - not bassy or trebly.
Excerpt: They are ok, good. Not great, not impressive but decent. Excellent for a small space or low volume like a work but still want to hear the music clearly. The bass ports on top really do move some air, and make a 6x8 cubicle a party zone, that's for sure. But don't buy these if you're super serious about sound and thump. These should really be $40-$50 speakers.
Summary: I had to move my computer to a small setup/desk and my 4.1 speakers just did not make sense. So, I decided to get smaller desktop speakers. I listened to a number of cheaper speakers and it was hit or miss. Some sounded downright awful while other were decent but a bit tinny. Since I really liked the "Creative" branded 4.1 Cambridge Soundworks speakers I decided to give Creative a second shot. Turns out it was a good decision.
