Not enough volume for Manhattan

Rickah, B&H Photo
23 September 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought the speakers to use on my iMac, to listen to a radio jazz show streaming from gmcr.org. I live on Second avenue and 4th street, the East Village, NYC. The traffic on 2nd Ave is fierce with sirens going all the day and night. Unfortunately the sales person did not really know the products performance (how can a salesman know all of them). However I ordered… the service and delivery was without flaw, BUT, the speakers just barely do the job.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up
  • Cons: Lack Of Power

... with music but when people are talking it sounds like there in a tube or closet

Joseph Agro "Jerseyjoea", Amazon

  • Summary: I have this hooked up to my 24" TV in the kitchen & sounds OK with music but when people are talking it sounds like there in a tube or closet. Too much bass and echo, the control knobs do nothing.I will try the bose companion 2 & hope for better results.

A Pair of Decent Speakers for A Small Space ~ Depending On Usage

Ciara, Amazon
5 May 2009
  • Summary: I thought I had it made when I bought a small pair of Altec Lansings, which I bought at Goodwill for $5. After a few years, they started to "fizzle", and I needed another sound alternative. After researching the field, I took a chance on the Creative Lab group, and it's been an interesting learning experience. I am an audiophile, a DJ, and currently live in a small space. I needed speakers that were built very well, which would withstand constant use.

Not so Happy with these

DenverJohn1 "Realpricing", Amazon
15 January 2007
  • Summary: Sound is good for the size. Bass is ok for just a pair of desktop speakers. Volume is very minimal hooked to my home computer. Ended up putting my old Altec Lansing speakers back to the PC. Disappointed with these. Nice package but not so powerful sound.

Not worth the money

Chris, FutureShop
10 January 2014
  • Summary: Pros: Great, crisp sounding treble / mid Compact design Cool looking, if you take covers off Cons: Pathetic bass Low power Overall: These would be great for someone who doesn't like to listen to audio loud and hates bass. They sound great but are underpowered. Creative clearly went for quality over quantity but a little too much.
