Summary: I've had these for eight years or so - don't even remember who I bought them from - and have cranked them just about every day. Blood, Sweat & Tears & Guns 'n' Roses to military bands and Bach concertos. I've owned or used JBL pro-level equipment at home and in studio since the early '70s.
Pros: The best sound quality through a sound card I've had or heard. Upconverts 5.1 to 7.1 with one button.
Cons: When I'm playing bagpipes and military band, it's hard to back off the treble just right. Seriously - get real.
Summary: I've owned this system for over 6 years and have had no issues other than trying to clean up the cables a bit (what an eye-sore). I would prefer a true RF or IR system and after reviewing the Logitech Z906 I think I will stick with these and manage a way to run the cables through the wall in my new...
Pros: -Deep bass -clarity at high volumes -quality of materials used -has lasted me since purchase in 2006, still using them for my PC, nothing else
Cons: -heavy bass use will shimmy the Power Cord out of it's own socket on the back of the sub.
Summary: My almost 4 year old 7.1 Creative S750s failed classically one night. I use the S750s in my living room hooked up to my computer. They’ve been through average to heavy use to watch/ listen to DVDs/AVIs/CDs/MP3s etc.
Pros: Satellite speakers are small and sound great as does the sub. No noise at all. Paired with an audigy pro they sound amazing.
Cons: They fail. Not for someone that lives in the sticks and possibly wouldn't have access to repair shops.
Summary: I've owned this product for over three years (purchased in April 2004) and have been using it on my Dual Opteron Rig Since. Audio quality is excellent for movies and music, an excellently balanced system for the money. More future proof than other electronics out there.
Pros: Best Multimedia speaker system for PC money can buy. Works very well with Soundblaster Audigy ZS, High output without distortion, durable, quality product.
Cons: Proprietary speaker wires, Heavy (not really a con), Speaker stands are flimsy and may break, will last longer than my PC.
Summary: Typically, most will leave the speakers on even though they've turned the computer off. What happens is the power supply in the amp has died. Ya can't leave a high powered system like this on at all times.
Pros: Great sound. This is pretty comparable to purchasing a mid-high end sound system for a third of the cost.
Cons: If you are having problems with the amp crapping out, read below... Otherwise, no complaints!
Summary: For thoes of you having amp problems, its the problems with mass production you will have some worse units, but thats why they have the Service Net Replacement Plans, they replace the entire purchase cost.
Pros: Posting an update that i have owned this speaker system since 12/14/05 and have definetly tested it, exposing it to sustained periods of high volume and it still works as good as the day i got it. Come to think of it...the price is still the same now as it was then.
Cons: Well..if you have to come up with a con, its that the satelite speakers are housed in plastic and not wood that would allow for better resonance. not really a con, but i starting to think i spend $80 on a 2 year extended warranty for nothing! *knock on wood*
Pros: I've had this set for over a year and has "@!%&#!" off my neighbors from day one :). I have them connected to a Creative DDTS-100 via coax. Havn't had any problem with the sub amp yet, but it's bound to happen. I keep the sub out of the corner and 4" away from the wall. These speakers can get ver...
Summary: I wrote a review earlier giving this a 2 out of 5 because it broke after one day of use. The replacement is working fine. The subwoofer heat sync on the back will get warm to the touch if you are using the bass a lot. Setting this up is a little bit of work so you should prepare at least an hour.
Pros: Bass response is incredible for gaming. Surround sound up mix from 5.1 or 6.1 works very well. I haven't found a better PC 7.1 sound system. All my World of Warcraft sounds are coming through great!
Cons: I personally would prefer Pots to electronicalyy adjusted volume controls. The volume level indicator is a coarse estimation of actual volume level. It shows a light for every 3-4 volume positions. So you press up up up up before the next light goes on.
Summary: I love these speakers! A lot of people think they are pricey but when you look at the price of REAL speakers this is a pretty cheap setup that delivers a great gaming eperience. BF2142 is freakin insane through these things, I hear every "ting" and footstep in Swat4, and the explosions in COD2 are...
Pros: Nice loud bass, strong speaker construction. THX Certified! Have lasted 2 years now and still sound like the day I hooked em up.
Cons: No wall mounts; The fact that my Audigy delivers sound through the side and rear speaker at same time. Thats not true 7.1 is it?
Summary: Creative has a great name in the computer business, especially with it's sound cards and now speakers. Granted, they should back their product a little better, just buy the extended warranty. Even adding $xxx to the cost is still MUCH cheaper than any Bxxe system I have ever heard.
Pros: These speakers are nothing short of spectacular. Anyone that has heard these speakers running in 7.1 mode knows what true sound is. My Sub hasn't had the problems that some of the other's have, and I guess that has a lot to do with my rating.
Cons: Everyone complaining about the cost of these speakers! Go to the Bxxe store and see what sound like this would cost you.
