Summary: I am not a speaker expert nor am I an audiophile. I have several ipods and a vast musical library of classic rock, jazz & classical and these little speakers are great sounding. They are rugged, metal frames and the sound they produce is warm and crisp. Very good lows, mids & highs. Very impressive for such a small footprint. Set up is normal for speakers, plug then in etc. Nice blue glow on the volume knob is a nice touch.
Summary: Other reviewers have covered the audio details much better than I could possibly do. I'm not an audiophile, and the technical details of sound systems are way beyond me. So all I can do is review these speakers as a "layman", based on my listening experience. I don't use speakers with an MP3 player, so I can't rate this product on that basis. The only way I use speakers is with my PC, on my desktop.
Summary: I am not sure why this is a "speaker system for Macs and ipods", and not just for computers and mp3 players. Because they are white and expensive? They sound good, especially for their size, but their "BasXPort" hardly takes the place of a subwoofer. I often find myself wishing I could turn up the bass a bit. A problem I have with them is the wire connecting the two speakers.

Summary: First off, let me give my a little summary of the good and bad. The Good: * Nice little compact design, durable construction * Nice color combination (white body and the black cover) * Volume control with LED light indicator when the speaker is powered on * Convenient connections including an input for an external device * Moderate Bass The Bad: * Highly distorted sound when volume is raised * Expensive (at $149 retail) This speaker would complement any laptop PC.
Better than any speakers you'll find in a computer monitor

Summary: These are decent sounding speakers for their size. They are small and lightweight. They come in a glossy white finish, which I suppose is to make them match an ipod. The black speaker grills which are magnetically attached, blend in more with the more stylish and trendy black computer monitors and keyboards that most people buy these days.
Summary: First off, I really do like these speakers. Nice quality, compact design, stylish look. Creative Labs makes decent quality products and this is a solid entry in their product line. Now for the reality part: Manufacturing something in white so it matches most iPods then slapping the name "HD" onto it doesn't make a product great or justify the seriously hefty price tag. These are a decent set of Creative Labs speakers, not an outstanding set of Bose.
