  • Conclusion: Overall, the HD50s deliver better performance than you'd expect from a pair of small, subwoofer-free speakers. They are best for simple audio like voices on a podcast, noises during gaming or pared-back music. Anything more complex tends to suffer a little, and the relatively low maximum volume makes them the wrong choice for a raging party.
  • Pros: Doesn't do justice to detailed and bassy music, No bass or treble controls, No headphone jack
  • Cons: Smaller than your average PC speakers, Good for both PC and MP3 players, Podcasts, games and pared-back songs sound great

PC Pro

  • Excerpt: The humble PC speaker is often neglected by system builders, with the result that what could be a highly capable entertainment PC is hobbled by flimsy, tinny-sounding speakers. Adding a bit more oomph to your setup is easy and, if you don't want a tangle of wires hanging out of the back of your PC, Creative's latest desktop stereo pair is a good choice.
