Summary: I bought two of these speaker systems for use with two different computers. I am impressed with the quality of sound for the price. However, one of the two systems just died. It lasted thirty months but now it's totally dead. The other is still working well. I gave the system three stars -- sound quality per dollar tends to raise the rating, lifespan pulls it down. I'm not sure that my final rating is accurate or appropriate -- but I wouldn't buy this system again.
Summary: It's true that those speakers sound good and I'm glad I got them, but the cable quality linking the speakers to the bass case (or the one linking the volume button gizmo) are not good and you will hear either some parasites (if all those cables are close to one another) or some background noise (very low) when no music is on. I am disapointed by that actually and wish at least one review talked about that issue.. does anyone else experience that too?
Summary: I was replacing Boston speakers I purchased with my Gateway computer over ten years ago. Those Boston speakers were like nothing I've ever heard from computer speakers. I wanted that same sound so my only choice was Boston Acoustics. This set of speakers has a wired on/off switch. This wired switch is not properly insulated or properly grounded. I'm not sure which. The problem is, I get a popping sound from the speakers when the wire touches another wire.
