Great product for PC and iPhone

nikon, B&H Photo
1 January 2015
  • Excerpt: Easy to install on PC with usb cable. Control pod is superb with jack for iPhone and headphones, plus volume control. XP (yes XP) and Win 7 recognize the speakers easily. Be sure to turn off all equalizer and effects on all audio output devices in the OS. Buzzing sound with the iPhone plugged into the PC with the usb cable - solved by unplugging the cable.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Great Sound Quality

Bose Companion 5 Series Speaker System

MisterTickle, ReviewStream
25 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I’ve owned a Bose compact disc player and I love it. The small player delivers surround sound. I’m not sure if it does or not, but I feel like that it does. I got the Bose Companion 5 Series Speaker System to match with my Alienware.

Great Speakers with good sourround-sound simulation

LRS Prime Rocks!, Amazon
6 July 2014
  • Summary: Bose Companion 5 Multimedia Speaker System - Graphite/Silver This is the second set of these speakers that I have bought within the past month. The first I placed in my study with a 27 inch Dell Windows 8.1 all-in-one computer. The second I placed in my bedroom with a Samsung 27 inch Windows 8 all-in-one computer. Thus the rooms are not really very big – studies about 12 x 12 in bedroom about 16 x 16 feet.

Unrivaled.. In this price category.

  • Summary: My father and I have been competing for years, spending multiple $1,000's on home systems, like B&W's and my personal favorites the powered Infinity Overatures. That being said, every time my Dad comes over, and I have my Bose Campanion 5's playing, he says, "Holy Geeze! Wow! Boy does that sound great!".
  • Pros: Excellent clarity from mid to high range, and powered sub hits the lows very nicely. I have them strategically placed for sound and stealth, but when found, they are deceivingly small and elegant. Guests usually just shake their heads in disbelief. Love the durable feel of everything especially the separate volume control.
  • Cons: Just one. Missing something if you haven' t figured it out yet. Lower mid range. But for the price it is outstanding and I get nothing but random compliments, without even asking!

Bose Companion 5 is a Great Choice for the Computer

hnovitsky, Crutchfield
4 January 2014
  • Summary: For all normal computer sound requirements, as well as, decoding 5.1 surround Blu-Ray audio, these are great speakers to have. I really like their small footprint and modern look. Note, though, if you are a serious music person - see the Cons listed.
  • Pros: Very small footprint. Aesthetically pleasing. Easy control.
  • Cons: If you really intend to use your computer for serious music listening, then you should consider the AudioEngine 2+ and AudioEngine Subwoofer. I have them on a second system and they rock!
