Summary: Bose, not much more to say there. If u want a greater listening experience get the Companion 5, it's a couple hundred dollars more but gives wall vibrating, mind blowing sounds, you'll be amazed..
Summary: The speakers arrived on time and in good condition, although the shipping box had a tear in it. I think it needed more packing material inside. The speakers were pretty easy to set up with the instructions given. They work very well, although, they don't seem as loud as our previous speakers. But we bought the speakers, not having seen or heard them as we would have had we purchased them in a store. All in all I am very satisfied with these speakers.
Summary: These speakers have to be installed exactly as Bose recommends are you will be VERY disappointed in the sound. After placing the Acoustimass® module correctly, I was pleased with the sound quality, make sure floor module points towards a wall to hear full bass.
Summary: I have found the subwoofer sweet spot is right at 48-52hz. Which is right where a typical movies bass output is. For action movies, these sound simply flawless. The tight and accurate bass that comes from that little box is simply amazing. Watching 300 on my computer with these speakers has never sounded better. I am NOT a gamer. So I have not rated these speakers for games. They are very elegant looking. Yes $250, is a little much.
Summary: I really like Bose. I like the company, and I like the products they release. I was building my new PC system and saved enough cash to spring for some Bose speakers, although I couldn't bring myself to go for the Companion 5's so I settled with the 3's. I really like these speakers, they sound great. When I am listening to music it is a really enjoyable experience.
Summary: I had a pair of altec lansing speakers for a number of years. I thought they were okay until the left speaker kept going out. Partly because of the Bose reputation and partly because of the price I decided to give these a try. They were very easy to set up and they sound great. My one little complaint is that the on/off switch is located on the back of the subwoofer which I have placed on the floor under my desk.
Summary: I too was stuck in a decision between the Logitech Z-2300 and the Bose. My original speakers were the old Altec Lansing 2.1's with the wooden enclosed sub. Best speakers I have ever had but got destroyed in a move. I then bought a pair of Klipsch with sub. These speakers sounded incredible at all levels and performed admirably with any movies, games and music. The only problem was they shorted out somehow and without any misuse of any kind.
