Summary: I am a Bose fan. I bought their Acoustimass system when it first appeared, decades ago. I have Bose noise-cancelling headphones, which I love. But this system seems a triumph of styling over performance. The standard of finish is high, and those little speakers are soooo cute, but--well, they sound like crappy little speakers. Unsurprisingly, with tweeter units this small, there isn't a whole lot of midrange in this setup.
Summary: I have never really liked the sound of Bose! The bass from this unit is boomy and the mids(what mids?)and the highs are horrible (tinny)! I tried different EQ settings (iphone) and then with none and it all sounded bad. Adjusting the volume on the bass module didn't help much either, as well as moving its location. I just don't get it? Bad Overpriced Sound Equipment! Thankfully I didn't buy this unit, I happen to be using it at a co-workers desk! Sorry Bose lovers!

Summary: I got the speakers and one did not work. I tried changing the rca's around to see if it was the sub or the speakers. It was the speakers. I return them and it takes over a month to get my refund. Once I sent amazon a email the right away have the refund issued.
Summary: I have used Lansing speakers for a few years now. I play soft jazz during my eye examinations, and get a lot of compliments from my patients on the music I play. So when I got a new computer in my other office, I thought I would get the $249.00 Bose speaker system and hook it up in my main room. This would really sound great. When I set up the system I was very impressed at the quality of the product and couldn't wait to hear the music.
Summary: I spent several days going through reviews, home audio sites, looking at the huge back and forth swing regarding the quality of these things. All the Bose bashers, and the people who liked them. I'm not a Bose basher, and having heard some other bose systems in the past that did decent sound, I was really wanting to like these. I mean, I *really* wanted to like them.
Summary: I am very experienced with music and sound - in fact it's my profession. I was in the market for the best computer PC speakers for home, and something that looked good in our living room. (Otherwise I would hook up an AMP and some decent small speakers.) Our family was on vacation and I was in a Bose store and noticed them. It's hard to listen critically in that kind of environment, as they were using specially mastered music and nice soundproofing.
Summary: Virtually all Bose product has an extremely poor price to performance ratio. Charitably, when I hear someone use Bose as a benchmark in comparing other audio product, I immediately think the person may not have enough time to listen to competing brands. Get out there and decide for yourself. Which brings me to this product. I listened to these side by side with 2.1 speakers from Logitech, Klipsch, Altec Lansing and others.
Summary: I really wish I had listened to my audiophile friends, they warned me to stay away from Bose products at any cost, but I wouldn't listen to them. OK, I admit it: I was a sucker, a mark, a fool and moron who kept seeing all those Bose advertisements in such highly respected audiophile magazines as Popular Science, Time, USA Today, etc. and figured "well they must be a great company, I see their name everywhere.
Summary: Fuyez ce kit bose....
