Outstanding VALUE!

Alex Moore, Amazon

  • Summary: I consider the A2+ a real bargain overall. Perfect size footprint, Placement is a snap where ever you plunk them down because of it's front port. In addition, you get a decent 16-bit 48KHz DAC, subwoofer out & can use headphones via the rear input (use monoprice #5612 @ $1.76 2RCA to 3.5mm Female 6" cable) Not bad for $249.99 Plus you get all the cables in the box.

It's not the size of the speaker, but the size of the music coming from the speaker

  • Summary: These little speakers are AMAZING!!! They provide excellent sound, excellent clarity & good bass. I do have them hooked up to a DAC, but even when I didn't the internal DAC was good enough. I got another DAC for my A5's which allowed me to connect the A2's to the Audioengine D1 DAC. These run great without a DAC from your PC or from headphone jack of your laptop or phone.

For under 200 bucks, a great value for a well rounded sound.

kongserga, Ebay
2 July 2014
  • Summary: I bought this product to replace my old logitech z506 speakers. These speakers, along with my audioengine d1 dac/amp, provide a very well rounded sound. Without a dac or amp, they still provide a fairly strong bass, but with one the bass response is strong with clear treble and mids. Of course there are better speakers, especially for bass, but they are also going to cost about 150 dollars more.

Clear sound, no noise, convenient three inputs (USB, RCA, 3.5mm).

  • Summary: I was looking for a good computer speaker, and finally found a real good one. I normally listen to music at a low level, and don't look for too much bass. I don't want to have huge speakers on my desk so I was looking for a good 2.0 system. First, I bought Bose Companion 3 Multimedia II ($180) from Costco. When not playing anything, they made a shhh noise. I thought it was my computer fans but was surprised that the noise came from Bose(!) speakers.

They're great, even in my large living room

apg, Amazon
1 June 2014
  • Summary: I have a speaker on both sides of a long sofa in a living room with vaulted ceilings. I was a little concerned that they'd be too small to fill the room with sound, but I was wrong. They're great! I'm not using them for loud dance parties or anything like that. I'm just using them to casually enjoy some music upstairs in the living room / dining room / kitchen via an Airport Express and Airplay. I'm hearing parts of songs that I've never heard before.

Exceeded my high expectations!

Andrew "Klipsch, Onkyo and Mac guy", Amazon
29 May 2014
  • Summary: The set up is this– a lowly pair of aging computer speakers complimented by a nice eight inch 100 W sub woofer, both controlled by an inexpensive but wonderful pre-amp (Gemini 7000). Now just imagine how stunned I was when I needed to lower the sub's crossover from 160 cycles down to 70 maybe 75 -- and the sub's volume almost as low as it would go. What this says is, these little guys have some real bass. And they will definitely crank to surprising volumes.

Great speakers/poor bass

Dan Collins, Amazon
12 May 2014
  • Summary: These speakers sound great most of the time, but lack the bass expected at this price point. There is an add-on sub that can be purchased, but it is over $600. These speakers are good on the highs and I would advise you to purchase the speaker stands to reduce vibration.

Good Speakers

Sergio Aires, Amazon
12 May 2014
  • Summary: The only dislike is the volume control in the speaker rear. Everything else is real good. For this range of price they sound amassing. Small size, elegant design, good construction materials and powerful enough for a standard room size.

Great speakers

Marc, Amazon
4 May 2014
  • Summary: I use these speakers with my TV and I've been very happy with them. I added a subwoofer (not from Audioengine) and the sound with the entire setup is great. I'm not a huge audio freak, but I like good deep sound. I'd recommend these to anyone who wants good sound without a huge messy speaker system.

Desktop audio solution!

David Parker, Amazon
19 April 2014
  • Summary: So, I was looking for an audio upgrade for my desktop (something with good sound quality, but fairly accurate - I do a lot of music listening, gaming, video production) and I happened to stumble upon these guys. Judging by the glowing reviews of pretty much everyone ever, I decided to take the plunge and drop the $250 on these and $130 for a Dayton 10" sub to cover the low end. First off, these things are small. Like, way smaller than I expected.
