Good Speakers

A. Gift For You, Amazon

  • Summary: really like the speakers overall, they have an excellent build quality, design, packaging and sound. The only downside is they are very small speakers so they don't have any low end. Pair these up with your favorite sub woofer and enjoy.

Audioengine A2+ Premium Powered Desktop Speakers

Buzz4, Amazon
12 March 2014
  • Summary: These are some punchy dark sounding speakers. Mid tones and highs are not very crispy. You will have to use sound card EQ software to shape the sound for your particular taste. They are heavy little rascals and the main speaker does some pumping and you can feel the air pumping out the front lower slit opening. The Kevlar cone construction seems interesting and a bit unusual but seems to be something that may go the distance if the cone flex outer ring ages well.

Audioengine A2+

Mark, Crutchfield
3 December 2013
  • Summary: Very pleased with my Audioengine 2+. A vast upgrade from my computer speakers. My iTunes now come across with better clarity, more authority and a wider soundstage. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an alternative to standard off the shelf PC sound systems.
  • Pros: Clear and crisp sound, wide sound stage, flexible input choices, ie USB, RCA and mini plug
  • Cons: Wish they had a headphone connection

Not a bad set of speakers

  • Summary: I bought these to pair up with my Airport Express base stations for airplay, and have found myself using it for various devices. Without any EQ adjustments, I would say that the sound is somewhat muddied. However, being able to use an EQ with these (software or hardware, whatever you have) they sound very good. Keep in mind, these being very small speakers .. do not expect them to have the sound that larger high quality speakers do.

Great little speakers that pack a punch (sorry for the cliché)

Jeff Gordon, Amazon

  • Summary: The reviews that claim these speakers put out a lot of bass for their size are correct. I was very impressed with the low end, especially once you crank them up a bit. I would have given these 5/5 if it weren't for two small issues. 1) Like many other people have complained, the volume knob is on the back. A minor inconvenience, but I suppose it makes the speaker fronts look a lot nicer. 2) I bought these speakers without the optional DS1 rubber stands.

Susrprising Sound, Outstanding Value!!

  • Summary: I'm a serious audiophile who owns a dedicated 2-channel system worth as much as a new car. I've spent countless hours auditioning various pieces of audio gear, particularly over the past 5 years. I attended the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest on my own dime. Long story short, I just ordered my third pair of these speakers because I can't get over how good they sound. All three have been gifts so far. My 9-year-old son, my girlfriend, and my 98-year-old aunt all love them.
