Surprising sound from such a small unit. No power cord needed

Summary: When I bought a new PC, I connected my Logitech computer speakers to it. However, I have kept the old one and use it occasionally. I wanted some small, relatively inexpensive speakers for it. I purchased another brand that needed a power cord. The power did not work, so I had to recycle them. The Arctic is the style I had really wanted - it is powered by a USB connection to the PC. Works like a charm with pretty good sound for such a small unit.
Bought one pair then another pair a few months later

Summary: I live on a sailboat so space is tight. Bought a pair of these for a laptop I have connected to a monitor that serves as my stateroom TV. Plenty of good sound from a small enclosure, and setup is easy and straightforward. Ended up buying a second pair for the laptop I have at my nav station. Probably not the answer for a serious audiophile looking for mind-blowing sound quality and ear-shattering volume but a great value for the money otherwise.
Summary: I tried using this with my desktop PC to replace a big set of speakers and sub-woofer that I just didn't need or have space for. Unfortunately, there was a buzzing sound coming from the speakers the whole time it was on. I tried them on a laptop, and the buzzing disappeared, so I'm using it for that now. I don't know if dinging them a star is totally fair, since they do work well for the laptop, but I wished they worked on the desktop, too.
Summary: These are great speakers for basic PC sound. Since they are powered via a USB port, you just plug them in and they work. There's no on/off switch, the speakers automatically turn on/off when the PC is turned on/off. The volume control is on the speaker back. The size is very small, which works great for a cramped desk space. Sound is good, not tinny, but not ideal for music listening either. They are great for basic sound, webcam use, etc.
Summary: Lately some items I've been researching on amazon haven't turned out as well as I hoped (honest reviews seem to be more and more difficult to find). I ordered this based on the positive reviews- even though some reviews complained about buzzing. It arrived quick... I opened the box, plugged them in... fully expecting for my face to sink upon hearing buzzing- but it never happened. On the contrary, the sound was way better than I'd expected from such small speakers.
Summary: hearing lyrics for the first time from my computer. why did I never get external speakers before? like that they are powered by the PC with USB connection and are light. When I saw that the volume control was inexplicably located on the back of the main speaker I was annoyed but once I picked a kind of halfway point found I didn't need to adjust it. I could just use the computer volume control or the media volume control. Really good buy here folks.
Summary: Pros: -surprisingly loud -audio quality is good -they are small Cons: -being usb powered, I wish they got louder sometimes -I wish they had other features such as detachable left speaker and power cord. -These cons dont count as these are USB speakers and are awesome for what they are! I have had these for 6 months now. Still working great!
Summary: Like some other reviewers have pointed out, these speakers have a lot of static, which can be drowned out when the speakers are on, but when you turn them off (and expect silence), there's a constant static that is driving me crazy. It's not loud enough to be a soothing white noise and it's not quiet enough to ignore. Maddening.
Summary: Needed some small but good sounding speakers for my office PC and didn't want to spend more than 25.00 or so. These are perfect. Since they're being used in an office environment, I don't intend to play them at high volumes -- so I haven't yet tested to see just how loud they'll get without distorting. But they give a very pleasing & full sound at relatively low volumes, which is exactly what I was looking for. Honestly could not be happier with the purchase.
