Summary: Altec Lansing send over some audio love for us to try out. If you're limited to a mono or stereo TV and want a little something more, we may have a solution.
Pros: Can also be used for regular TV viewing, VCRs, DVD, CD, MP3 players, etc., Excellent alternative to TV speakers., Includes a handy remote to adjust settings from the couch., Includes almost all cables you’ll ever need, and very long ones at that., Inexpensively priced for reasonable performance.
Cons: No Aux cable., Power brick may dangle due to the short cable., The subwoofer and front grills are designed to stick out like a sore thumb., Unusual design could expose cables you’d rather hide.
Conclusion: Now we have to look at these speakers on two different levels. As replacements to your TV speakers, I don't think you can get a more complete package for this price. The XA3021's are truly plug and play; you don't need an amp or receiver, or anything! Just plug them into your AUX output either on your TV or directly from your console, and you're ready to go! Ross' monkey never sounded better!
Pros: Excellent performance for the price, They look cool!, A great all-in-one package to replace your puny TV speakers
Cons: Speaker placement may be a hassle, I thought corded remotes died in the 70's, Volume control is too touchy
