Summary: This is a somewhat higher end speaker. It offers full range sound and rich mids. Only problem is that the subwoofer is way too loud. If you're a base head you would DEAFINATLY love this speaker, but for me, I had my base turned ALL the way down and it's still too loud.

Summary: The unit works fine and is appropriately priced. I wish I had a longer DIN cable to move the left-hand controls further from the base unit. I might look for a 9-Pin M/F cable to extend it a bit more so left-right channel separation is better in the arrangement I'm using in my bedroom.
Summary: It would have been nice if the volume knob would "click" when you turn it up to indicate its on but its all smooth and no difference.
Pros: Love the speaker design, fits great on my desk without taking up too much space. sub is pretty good without taking up much space
Cons: First couple days I had them they would produce some static when noting was playing, and it was enough to need to turn down the volume. I later played with a bunch of things: reseating every connection, plugging into a different outlet. The last thing I did was put some farret "covers" on the mai...
Summary: The satellites sound excellent, but, like cheap desktop subs, the sub is quite under dampened and sounds boomy and cheap (you 'can hear the box') This is often the case with low end ported enclosures, but especially here because they skimped on the dampening material.
Pros: -Good value for what it is; the last step before you pay a lot more for buy a real stereo and subwoofer. -No garish esthetics or led displays, just sound. -Smooth frequency response (satellites aren't boomy and make it down to 200Hz) -Plenty for small room (mines in my office)
Cons: -No headphone jack?. Whatever, that's what my computers' jack is for. -Can't mount satellites on walls. -Sub is boomy as is [ see below ]
Summary: I was hesitant at first about ordering these speakers with some of the negative reviews on Amazon. Now that I've owned this set for a few weeks, I have no idea what those people were talking about.
Summary: FINALLY A SPEAKER SYSTEM WITHOUT A WALL WORT.
Pros: Remarkably better than a 2.0 system. I am not a sound expert but i can tell the difference. the sub-woofer is a little loud, but you can tune down the bass if needed.
Cons: since the mid-range is down-firing, if you are too far above the base of the speakers things start to sound funny. this should not be a problem though as most people keep their speakers around where their monitor is.
Summary: Having had a previous set of Altec Lansing speakers (two small box speakers and a subwoofer) for my computers for the past 10 years or so, I was curious to see what this unusual looking new set had to offer in terms of quality. In short: a massive upgrade.
Summary: This system sounds very good. I owned a similar Altec Lansing system for over ten years and thought it very good, as well. If I hadn't damaged a plug on the subwoofer I would still have it today. The old system was designed better in that the speaker cones were protected.
Summary: I should have paid more attention to the dimensions of this system, but then again you've surely heard the old joke about why women have problems with visualizing dimensions! The Vine discription calls the system small, however, this set is HUGE!
