Summary: I got a set of these from New Egg when they were on sale for something like 15-20$ Great speakers. Very compact. I take them to camp or out on the deck, wherever the beer is. Surprisingly loud for their size and they sound great. Had them four or five years now. I am actually looking for another set at the moment. haha As all I see are one pair for 50$ and used.. Maybe I will try a newer set by this company.
Summary: My father just gave me these speakers after he's owned them for over 5 years and they STILL sound better than new speakers costing much more today. When you have a set of Bose, your paying for nothing but the logo on the front of the speaker.
Summary: I had before a computer speaker system but it's only 2.0 (also from Altec Lansing) which I'm not satisfied of what I'm hearing even-though it sounds very very good but it misses something. And I step-up with this one (VS4121) and I had this one for a couple of weeks now and tuning it and I would say, "WOW THAT'S IT, THIS IS THE BEST period end of the story".
Summary: If you're looking for an excellent 2.1 solution for a computer area, then look no further. I've had these for about 6 yrs and I'm still extremely satisfied to this day. It's amazing how much sound comes out of these little speakers. Can't go wrong with these.
Summary: I spent a considerable time at the shop comparing and listening to the other sound options, and concluded that for a 2.1 system this is the clear winner. Powerful bass, clear highs, great looking and easy to use. I loved them so much I bought a second set for the second bedroom/home office. Thinking of getting a couple of Sonos ZonePlayers now to give them wireless capability.
Summary: iv had these speakers for over a year and they still hit hard and nice, i use them for movies, gaming, and of course music. with the right eq these babys can sing. im thinking about getting another pair do expand my system. have them set up in a 6.2 surround sound configuration with some logitec.. and they dont sound anywhere near as good as my Altec's. good day people... also, if you are a bass fanatic, these are the speakers for you.
Summary: This is really easy to install and is a good speaker for a pretty fair price. There are adjustable knobs for treble and bass and volume which makes it quite handy especially if you want a heavy bass. The bass is beyond great. It like makes the floor like move, making it feel like an earthquake. If you want above average speakers, this is the one.
Summary: These speakers seem and look gutless but if you got the right sound card, these things are loud and crisp! I turn them up full on pop and rock songs and the only thing that cracks is the bass but thats when I have it up full... Trust me, Im a recording engineer... These things are amazing! I'll probably be Altec Lansing product user for the rest of my life! This, with a Mac, Holy crap.
