Summary: I had before a computer speaker system but it's only 2.0 (also from Altec Lansing) which I'm not satisfied of what I'm hearing even-though it sounds very very good but it misses something. And I step-up with this one (VS4121) and I had this one for a couple of weeks now and tuning it and I would say, "WOW THAT'S IT, THIS IS THE BEST period end of the story".
Summary: My great-uncle built his vacation home in 2007 and he had his VS4121's no later than 2008. These are by far the best desktop speakers I've ever heard. After hearing them for the first time, I was hooked. The highs are very detailed and have no distortion from what I've heard. The mids are phenominal, as they really do fill the space they occupy quite well, whether turned up or at a low comfortable volume. The bass is breathtaking.
Summary: Been using old computer speakers for over 10 yrs easy. Generic brand that lasted a long time but eventually one blew. Being so cheap/frugal I shopped for a few months surpassing some other deals. I eventually researched Altec Lansing and spoke to some sound engineers I know. Got thumbs up and I settled on these. Wow! Sweet! and Awesome! I use these for home use only. Minimal gaming but a lot of music.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Use, Great Sound Quality, Stylish
Summary: This is a awsome set-up for my zune player and computer. a guy I worked with has one and when I heard it , I just had to have it. The seller sold this as "not working propery" But when I received it, There was nothing wrong with it. Now I have purchased two of them. One for work and one for HOme. They sound every bit as good as any Bose system I have heard.
Summary: Had a nicer model of these speakers that came with a remote, loved them untill a mouse crawled into the subwoofer frying himself and the electronics inside of it. Bought these as a replacement and they're just as good, just no remote.
