Summary: Tone is too much on the bass end. The tone adjustment had very little impact on reducing the bass. Sound was "muffled", not sharp enough. Such poor sound quality that I replaced with Logitech X140's, which sound fine.
Summary: I loved the sound and bought these because of the price and reviews. I wanted to get the most for my money. The last speakers I had were basic ones that came with my computer. I had them since 2008. Then in Jan 2013 I finally gave in and bought these for some new ones. Now, 5 months later, they died. That's a pretty crappy lifespan when you consider that my previous speakers were worth maybe $5 and lasted for years (as of this review they still work).
Summary: At first, the sound from these speakers was great. At low to mid levels, the tone was good and balanced although the bass could have used a little more push. But just today, after about 2 months of use, I pushed the speakers to about 1/3 volume with one of my favorite songs and the right speaker blew out so now there's nothing but gross distortion coming from that side.
Summary: When I took my first look at the box I thought, gee these things are going to be tiny. That was not the case, these were packaged in a way that will give you that "Looks are deceiving" feeling. The speakers themselves also struck me with awe. First impressions were, these are just going to be another run-of-the-mill tinny set of computer speakers, actually for a two speaker system and while in my situation hooked up to my tv or my iPod through the Aux port these speakers...
Summary: the sound that these small speakers produce is fabulous. Their shape is both an asset and a curse. Really attractive, however, the odd shape makes them a problem for storing and transporting. Also, it would have been nice if they came with wiring that was completely detachable. That would have made them a little more portable. But, in the end, the bottom line is sound. and these speakers really kick out some quality sound for the price. I highly recommend these speakers.
