Great sound for the price. Subjectively - less than attractive design.

Summary: My laptop has horrid speakers, so the Altec Lansing Expressionist-PLUS FX3021 2.1 Speaker System is a very good solution. The bottom line here is that they give you good, well balanced sound for a reasonably low price. My list of caveats may not be important to you, but here they are. The set is not what I would call compact, and certainly not portable. The set up is lightweight but bulky.
Summary: The sound is very detail and clear. For the price range it is at, it is unbeatable. I went shopping at a nearby Bose shop and the bose companion that is at the same price range is clearly inferior to this speaker. Only the more expensive model(~$300) of the Bose speaker can be compared to this pair. I have been using this speaker for 1 and a half year.
Summary: I had my eye on this speaker system and another by Logitech. I ultimately went with these speakers because I was able to get them for a good price on sale - half the price of the Logitech speakers. I have been fairly impressed by the quality of the sound from these speakers. I first played Love is a Battlefield by Jordin Sparks and the bass sounded very good.
Summary: Pros: - Transparent reproduction; you will hear things you likely haven't heard before in your music, but the downside to that is it will expose flaws in poor source material - Clear, crispy highs - Decent, smooth bass - Decent volume; capable of filling an average-sized room - Beautiful, distinctive look Cons: - Bass could be stronger for the size of the subwoofer - Power button is on the subwoofer.
Summary: These speakers are awesome, you can hear slight distortion when you turn the volume to the maximum though(that's the reason I'm only giving 4 stars), but still, these speakers are great sounding; Lows, mids and highs are perfectly balanced and clear. Highly recommend.
Summary: Truly unbelievable sound for speakers in this price range. Sounds as good or better than systems I've heard in the several hundred dollar range. The one flaw is the volume control, which is awkwardly placed on one of the satellite speakers. First, you have to feel for the controls with your fingers, because they are not visible unless you are standing above the unit.
Summary: First of all, these speakers sound just great, they really do. I'll echo the comments that the cords are an awkward design, depending on where you place them in relation to your sound source and listening position. The power on-off button is on the top of the subwoofer, but the volume up-down control is on one of the satellites. And the sub's level control is on the sub itself.
Very stylish speaker with a decent Altec Lansing sound

Summary: I have been having decent speakers for my computer systems. I had liked the sound quality from the speakers from Cambridge Soundworks long time ago. And I have been enjoying the sound from the Logitech Z5 and the Altec Lansing FX2020 that I reviewed both. These two speakers were great and I have been happy with it. Now, here comes the Altec Lansing Expressionist-Plus FX3021 2.1 speaker system. This is a great addition of my PC speakers and I like it a lot.
Great sound quality and bass for a PC speaker system

Summary: I would say these are really good amplified speakers. They are in fact much better in sound reproduction than the Altec Lansing Expressionist CLASSIC FX2020 amplified speakers which I got from Amazon previously. I think that anyone who buys these speakers will be pleasantly astounded as well. The shielded subwoofer supplies the bass sound that you can FEEL the motion.
