Summary: These speakers are definitely NOT worth the money. This is the first Altec Lansing product I've been severely disappointed with. They don't sound much better than my little computer speaker. Oh well. I would try something else!
Summary: I don't know where all of these good reviews come from. The speakers pick up all kinds of electrical noise, and the sound quality is awful. It seems like you can't trust the product ratings on this site anymore.
Summary: I ordered these lower-priced speakers just to give my Toshiba laptop a little boost. I didn't need expensive, high quality speakers, just adequate ones. When they arrived, only one speaker worked. I e-mailed Altec Lansing on October 28, 2011. When I had not heard from them by November 4, I e-mailed them again. In the meantime, the only functioning speaker stopped working. I finally got a reply to my e-mails on December 18, 2011.
Summary: Based on the Amazon customer reviews, I was hoping for decent-sounding desktop speakers that would let me preview music (e.g., from online streaming services like Rhapsody). My expectations were fairly minimal based on the price, but these speakers really sound quite terrible -- tinny and low-fidelity. It's grating to listen to music with these speakers for more than a few minutes at a time. I can't speak for how these speakers would be for other uses (e.g.
Summary: I just recently bought the Altec Lansing BX1220 and not even a week later i had to buy new speakers. The wiring gave up, one speaker you can not hear the sound and if i move the wire you can. Don't get me wrong when i configured my sound setting on my laptop for the speakers MAN did i love it!! Soon after i started hearing the crinkling noise and static.
Summary: Alot of companies are carried by their boastful high opinion of themselves and nothing else. These goons seem to have perfected the art. I only wish I could have given them a big red FAIL stamp.
Pros: They look unusual. Powered by hooking up to a USB port.
Cons: This company is full of it. These are the worst quality speakers I've ever seen/heard in my life. On the first day, monkeys in a lab created these 2.0 Speakers, and on the second day they realized their horrible failure, thus, invented the transistor radio and everyone was blown away at the amazing quality of sound back in 1492.
