Summary: 15 years since I bought these and they still rock! Have them in my bedroom with a bluetooth adapter hooked up to it and still love them. If you can find cheap, pick them up..well worth it. Really great bass.
Summary: I got this speaker set in 1999 and gave them to my son yesterday. All ranges from bass to highs are produced in unreal clarity. They can be turned up loud enough to rock the house. Really, I can't say enough good things about them.
Summary: Wow, back from the past. When did ACS48 come out? Back in 1997? Well its now 2010, and I just found my pair in the boxes of stuff I had, after a move. I just cleaned them and set them up yesterday, connecting them to my brand new 26 inch samsung (newer by 10 yrs).
Summary: search no further!Ive had these (ASC48,s) for three years now and you wont find a better quality speaker system for the price. Get rid of those low quality 2 speakers that came with your computer, and install this 3 speaker system.
Summary: ...This review is for the Altec Lansing ACS48 speaker set.... These speakers are amazing. They've got huge sound, and high quality at that, in a relatively small package. I'd ding them one star for some usability issues (shortish cord between the small speakers, no easily-accessible headphone jack,...
Summary: What can I say....I always wanted to own these in college but never had the money to. Its been 4 years since, I recently managed to get my hands on one of the last remaining sets through underground channels and all I can say is Altec Lansing's ACS 48 Powercube system still rules.
Summary: I'm visiting this site because I accidently dropped a satellite speaker from my Altec Lansing ACS48 computer system and am considering whether to purchase new speakers. I came across this item and felt I should comment since I've enjoyed these speakers greatly over the year I've owned them.
Summary: I had a dilemma: I wanted to get good sound in my basement, but did not want to use the space or money for a regular system, and did not want to run wiring from my upstairs system and not have controls available. The light bulb went on when I remembered my Sony discman.
Summary: I down-rated the Altec ACS48 in a recent review because of it's perceived lack of output power and hissing at high levels and much to my embarassment, have discovered that I need to change that rating because I had not yet turned up my computer systems volume.
