Great with some IT help

  • Summary: This is harder to setup than gotomypc.com, but requires no fee after purchase. Also you can get in with out someone having to click okay at the other end to let you in. Getting into servers when they go into screen saver lock down are also tricky to get out of.
  • Pros: I need this to be able to download bu's from four offices including Canada. It was nice that you can set it up to run automatically in the evenings to have ready in the next mournings. It was also able to sync folders on my local server with the other four servers. This has really provided my com...
  • Cons: In all I would start by saying that I would still buy this product again. However, it does come with some short comings. The automation process requires you to put it in windows schedular and not with in it's own program. This requires you to create a scheduled task that has problems running. Whe...

  • Summary: I give this product a 5 because it really is awesome, I just don't see a need for it on local LAN's when there are plenty of free VNC options available on the web. However, I personally do NOT recommend using VNC for internet based connections as VNC has had security holes that have allowed...
  • Pros: pcAnywhere has long been my choice to supporting my customer's, its easier for end-users to use, its very secure when properly configured, tons of features like file transfer and scripting, session recording and supports modems, major network protocols, cable connections. VNC options only support...
  • Cons: pcAnywhere is a complete waste of money if you just need to remote into PC's on your home or other local TCP/IP network. I use pcanywhere for our primary connection to the customer then use VNC to remote into the different PC's on the network.

  • Summary: I use this software so that I can remotely control a server in my garage. I used to have the server in my office with my other computer, however the noise was getting to me, (I use fans and stuff that do the job but are not really expensive so they are nosiy.
  • Pros: I own version 12.0 and needed to upgrade to this 12.1 in order to use vista. It works great with Vista and does what it is supposed to do without any problems.
  • Cons: PRICE PRICE PRICE. FOR PEOPLE WITH PREVIOUS 12.0 VERSION THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FREE UPGRADE!!!I do not think tunneling software so that I can monitor and KVM my other machines should cost so much. Symantic knows they pretty much have a monopoly (except for laplink) because they are one of two k...
