Not for disk cloning
William M., Newegg

Summary: Great product for backup and image level backup. Update the software after installing if you are running Vista x64 or it will fail when you try to run a backup.
Pros: Great backup software for home / home office users. I have a RAID 0 for my boot drive for performance, so I needed a very strong backup strategy, and this software was perfect. I have it clone my system nightly and store it on my NAS array which replicates off site.
Cons: This version, unlike old versions, is for home backup and not for cloning disks. It will clone the drive within your computer, however if you want to clone a drive from and destined for another computer it will not work. I wish I had known this first, and the documentation never clearly addressed...
Pros: Works fine for 32 bit and 64 bit vista. I dont know why anyone has had issues. I have mine installed under 64 bit vista, 32 bit vista, and 32 bit XP right now - I've never had any installation or imaging (backup) issues.
Cons: Wont work for servers... Need a special server edition, which is actually cheaper than the standard version if you buy five or more copies (one for each server). Interface is somewhat cumbersome....
Summary: Overall I think product is worth the price. With the additional recovery options in the pre-boot environment makes this software a must for any System Administrator.
Pros: This software is a great addition to any collection of system utilities. I used this software to transfer files from a failing hard drive that other programs were erroring out on.
Cons: This software is a little bulky. The pre-boot environment looks like its built off of Windows PE 2.0 and takes some time to load. Also, during the data transfer from within the OS I was prompted several times to cancel the transfer and complete it within the pre-boot environment, however, there i...
Summary: If you value your data, this is an important piece of software. Make a boot CD and read through the manual a bit to make sure you can use it properly in the event of a disaster. It paid off for me!
Pros: If you are backing up all of your computer's main OS drive, it is a nice piece of software. I like that live update is integrated with the software to make getting updates easy. Email options are nice to let you know if there was a backup problem. Software overall works fairly well.
Cons: I have done a full restoration of my computer using this software, which is something I hoped I would never have to do. Am using Vista, and I found that the restoration was somewhat flawed. After the restoration, I had to follow-up with a repair using the Vista OS install DVD. Also, I tried to re...
Summary: Symantec can do better. For the price of the program it should be able to clone an OS drive and do more than it does
Pros: Easy to install, User friendly
Cons: The drive copy would not make a bootable drive by copying my OS drive to an sata drive in the computer and it deleted all the other files on that drive. It failed to make the hidden partition that windows uses so that function is useless for cloning an operating system drive
Summary: Installed this on a client's computer. His hard disk crashed. But, he was backing his entire computer once a week, his changed documents twice per week. Once he received the replacement hard disk, I had his system back and running perfectly in less than 30 minutes.
Pros: Easy to set up recurring, image backups. Booting system with Ghost CD automatically finds most recent image backup.
Cons: Somewhat confusing set up of any "changed files" backup.
Summary: I haven't had so much experience with this kind of software so was relieved to find it intuative and unobtrusive. And..it does what it says! I needed to re-install xp and it was completely painless and swift to boot (no pun intended yuk yuk).
Pros: Fast, easy, painless.
Cons: Takes up a fair amount of space on your drive that might affect users with small HDD's.
