Excerpt: Having been a user of Sound Forge 7 for many years, I was happy to see that most of the features had been kept in version 10. This is a very simple audio recording/editing program that will convert your sound file into just about any type of file you could want and or burn it to cd.
Excerpt: I gave this product four stars only because it is a reduced version of Sound Forge Audio Studio 11, which costs six times more. The costlier and more complete program has many more editing and control processes, but this program does pretty well for $.

Pros: Used with Windows 7..Installs CD's to Software...Use Music ID to find CD info..Songs name..Pick song..Burn to Disc...Sony is a Music Label...Works great..Easy to use...Great sound quality..Nothing to worry about..
Cons: No cons...Reasonable price Software is on Disc...Nothing to download..
Summary: Before you purchase this, make sure that your main intent is to create karaoke tracks. That is what this is most suited for, to get technical about it. The only way to use this for music production is if you want to emulate very early Beatles recordings that were made in two-track studio settings.
Summary: Other editors insist on WAV format, which makes huge files, or loading up lots of channels and complicated functions that are so opaque as to discourage the user. The free ones are oversimplified and you have to run after Lame patches for mp3. This is affordable and effective
Pros: The interface is simple and fairly intuitive for someone who wants to record audiobooks and rip the occasional CD for jogging. From version 7 through 10 there have been no startling changes to ruin everything. Different machines can run different versions with no problem.
Cons: It is not free, and Sony charges for add-ons like video frame tracking so you can see where in a vid the sound is occurring. The add on-can be more than half the original price. There is a lengthy code to install unless you register right then, which makes testing a chore on a new machine.
Summary: It's not a professional level program, but does what I need it to do.
Pros: I've used this software for editing wav files (trim, volume changes). I have also imported audio from tape removed hiss, clicks, speaker pauses and goofs, added track markers and then burned cds. I've also used it to record voice overs for video. Works great. Easy to use.
