Summary: Incredible upgrade! So glad props merged Record into Reason. Never understood the logic behind a sister program instead of incorporation. The sound bank is hugely expanded, seems at a glance to be around twice the size. As far as new modules go, the Gator is invaluable and an incredible tool for expanding even further on the already impressive sound engine. Haven't really explored further..yet. Apples & oranges, but I really prefer the simplicity of writing in Reason.
Will not work with educational versions of Reason!

Summary: I received this upgrade package as a Christmas gift in order to upgrade the version of Reason 3.0 that I had bought several years back, through my college. What I didn't know at the time - which now makes sense, is that the version that I had purchased was indeed Propellerhead's "educational" version - still a full version of the software regardless of the "educational" tag on it.
Summary: I bought this upgrade (from Amazon) because of good reviews in music publications. Unfortunately, after 5 e-mails with Propellerhead, I am still unable to get the USB key to work correctly. There is a 6th e-mail from Propellerhead in my in-box, but I have had _enough_ from these folks, and will abandon this product. This is my first experience in over 20 years of purchasing and installing software where I have given up all hope.
Summary: This newest version is the best to date. Propellerhead finally merged Record into Reason, and added some new additions to the line-up that I have not yet even come close to exploring in depth. So far, I've only been lining-in some sounds so I can deconstruct them and play. But, if I had to compare it to something, I would say Logic, but better because you get so much more in the way of instrumentation, amp effects for guitar, different mixers, etc.
Summary: This is a great product for people who want to do a wide range of musical projects. Used by many of today's top producers and songwriters. With this piece of software you get the MOST bang for your buck.
Summary: I was thrilled with Reason 4, but I held off from upgrading to version 5, because most of the added features from 4 to 5 weren't worth it to me. Luckily, Propellerhead continues to let you upgrade your current registered version of Reason (all the way back to the first version) to the latest version. Hopefully they will maintain this policy.
Summary: I love Reason and have been using it since version 1.0 and this new version is awesome. The one problem. I have is that you either have to have an authorization key connected via USB plugged in whenever you are using it or authorize online each time you open it up. It may seem small and insignificant but I feel that it is just a pain in the ass.
Summary: I knew the product was ace. A Swedish musicprogramme cheaper through Amazon and UK than buying it in Sweden (where I live)...FANTASTIC programme especially if you make dancemusic or other electronic kind of music. Although I have to say that I would rather have paid more to get recorded mail. The postman left my parcel worth hundreds of pounds outside my door. Well, Thats not the sellers fault or problem.
Classy sounds; bit of a learning curve coming from other DAWs

Summary: The first thing to note about Reason is that it has a collection of high class instruments and sounds great. For instant gratification, the presets give a taste of the quality and range of sounds here and they make a great starting point for creating new sounds. I have been a user of other DAWs, recently Ableton Live and Reaper, and was tempted by Reason but apprehensive about the learning curve.
