Summary: I tried to fill an application which was in PDF format. Nuance would not let me position the cursor in the line in which I wanted to type. Then I noticed that at the end of previous line, there was a CR/LF character (essentially an ENTER key). I had to move that to the next line (by positioning the cursor at the character and press ENTER key). Then I could type on the next line. The typing became impossible when there were several of these characters because of frames.
Cons: Using this software to fill a PDF form is an exercise in frustration. The free Nitro PDF Reader does a way better job.
Pros: The software itself is great, when/if you can activate it.
Cons: The product keeps asking you to re-activate every few days. It also only allows you 7 loads. Over the past year I've had to re-install the OS on several computers on my home network. Each time I re installed this software on the same computer it counted as one install. Turns out I got stuck on my primary computer without the product. Now just recently I was prompted to re-activate on another computer. When I did so it rejected it. Their so called help line is useless ...
Summary: I bought Nuance pdf Converter 8.0 Professional and just love that product. Nuance PDF converter 8.0 is a waste of time, save your money for the professional version which works just great!!!!!
Pros: It converts documents but not more than that
Cons: Doesn't allow you to edit documents as the professional version does.
Pros: cannot find anything useful. converts pdf text files easily - of course - but OCR capability is disappointing. 10 year old Paperport worked reasonably well. Altenative software is better choice.
Cons: the registration software is nasty. it crippled my netbook. there must have been 1000 line entries of "flexnet" in the registry which I had to remove one by one. could not find the removal software discussed on net. computer would no longer hibernate. battery sucked dry twice as fast. this is virusware at best.
Summary: I've used PDF Converter since version 4. It was a bit buggy back then, but they improved. That is they used to improve. Version 8 has more problems than I've seen in a while. I'm also dismayed at the price increase. It's almost double the cost it used to be. At least it's still cheaper than Acrobat. But, due to the bugs and issues, I'm not sure it's worth it any more.
Pros: Fast and easy PDF file editing, creating and printing.
Cons: Another case of copy protection gone berserk. It required me to go through the entire "activation" process every time I opened up the program. Going to their "support" was of no use. I stopped using it, wasted my money.
Pros: ..i gave this software as a gift to a friend who moved overseas and they returned the software because it wouldn't install on their computer. talk about embarrassing!
Cons: the problem is that i think the cd is blank!! i tried installing it on 2 of my computers and it won't read the cd! it's a defective cd!i can't return the software for an exchange because it's been more than 30 days!
