Summary: I would say this is the right software, this is the one. I've tried others but Capture NX2 is the one that brings better quality and the right options for photographs, photographs taken on Nikon cameras. There is no better choice. You may decide to use other software, there are really good ones, it is also a personal choice, but if you take NEF files, there are no one better than Capture NX2 working together with View NX2.
Summary: The program works good for batching images & manipulating raw images. However you can not queue multiple batches like the old Nikon Capture & you can NOT transfer the 2(?) licenses from an old computer to a new computer. Nikon forces you to buy another license. :( Customer service also leaves much to be desired.
Summary: It's a simple to use, yet powerful software. I use it most of the times even for portrait retouching on "easy" photos. It is possible to apply multiple similar adjustments, something you can't in ACR or LR.
Summary: Software que apresenta ferramenta completas e eficientes no tratamento da fotografia , apresentado excelente resultado pelo seu valor de aquisição, permitindo ter uma ferramenta util por uma relação custo beneficios muito bom .
Wonderful program but seriously in need of an update
8 July 2012
Summary: Editing in raw format with U-point technology and nondestructively is the way to go for those of us who shoot with Nikon equipment. However, as others have noted, this program is seriously in need of an update, especially to take advantage of the improvements and new plug-ins developed by Nik Software (e.g., Color Efex Pro 4.0, HDR Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro 2.0). To take advantage of these now, I am editing tifs and jpgs in Photoshop, which is a pain.
Summary: I've been using NX2 for a few years and have relied on it for my raw conversions and post processing when I wanted to get the most from my files. I made the mistake of downloading the latest update, 2.3.2. After that download I encountered major problems. It would not recognize the files, then would crash every time i would go to preferences. Forget about Nikon support, they are more concerned about how you word your problem than fixing the problem.
Summary: I bought this excited to used for photo editing only to find out it is not compatible with lion 10.7.3 It would have been nice to know this before the purchase and when I asked nikon tech support the rep said they will have support for 10.7.3, but he didn't know when. My other question would be so what happens when apple updates their OS again? No more Nikon support again? This seems to be a very poor way to offer software to customers.
