Beware of download

Pros: Software will be fine once I receive it
Cons: I've ordered the download version of this software multiple times without any problem and have received my license number promptly. This last time, however, the order was charged and invoiced completely and after two days no license number came. Beware that if you need this software quickly this might not always happen and you may be better off with a physical copy.
Excerpt: I ordered the Microsoft home & Business 2013 after writing @ and getting an assurance that I could immediately install the software. I was not allowed to download the software from outside the USA even if I Dell computer was recently purchased in the USA and Windows 8 was pre-installed. I will be travelling outside the US for several months and I wont be able to install Office until I return to the US even if my registered address is in the US.
Excerpt: The main problem with this product is that Adorama will not accept returns on software that has been opened, even though Microsoft explicitly allows refunds on its software. If you find this product to be as useless as I did, you must attempt to obtain a refund direct from Microsoft. I have been waiting five weeks after I requested a refund and I still have not received any communication from Microsoft. The problems with Office 2013 are well documented on the internet.
Excerpt: After receiving the key code in the mail, I spent over 5 hours on the phone with Microsoft customer support, sales and accounts and despite them taking control of my computer, they were all unable to load the program using the key code sent by B&H. They said the program was in suspense and finally Microsoft issued a replacecment CD disk and key code which worked, but it was not worth saving $30 for all the effort on my part.
Summary: I'm ready to seriously consider Free/Open-Source alternatives to MS Office (e.g. LibreOffice) if this is going to be the direction of future iterations of the product.
Pros: Fulfills the technical requirements of users - word processing, collaboration, etc.
Cons: The "online-enabled" install process for this product is either a joke or an insult. The user (or administrator) is required to visit an MS Office website and not only enter a product key, but tie the product to a Microsoft account as well, in order to complete the installation.
Summary: This is the first Microsoft Application / Suite I have ever hated.
Pros: Compatible with previous file types. Works better with touch.
Cons: Installation sucks for system builders and IT techs. The application must be permanently tied to an email address and Microsoft Live account. Gee, let me just create an email address and Live account for every pc and then track that information forever. I have nothing better to do with my time than spend an extra 20 minutes jumping through Microsoft hurdles to prove I am not counterfeiting their software. Who is paying for my lost time? This is ridiculous in a busines...
Summary: Microsoft cannot have tested this software thoroughly before release as the Lenovo with I5 processor and 4 Gb is a pretty standard configuration yet this software doesn't run at all. I was hoping that at least Outlook would work but as soon as it signs on to the email account, it also stops working. Its as if a common routine has an error and thus the error is common to all the products in the suite. I certainly don't recommend that anyone purchase this product.
Pros: I cannot find any. I only gave this one egg because I cannot give it no eggs. I have never bought software that worked like this from a company that is now so amorphous that I cannot get any satisfaction from their support group but get a long wait on hold instead.
Cons: Running Office on Lenovo T410 with I5 proc and 4Gb of ram under Windows 7.
Summary: "Renting" Office for a year and only being able to install on one single computer is getting to be a little much. My personal use of Office stops at version 2010. I would not take 2013 if they gave it to me-seriously.
Pros: Newer version of Office?
Cons: Installed this for 2 customers so far. Two calls to M$ tech support to get them installed. I could not understand why the customers had so many issues....I found out.
