Digital Office 365 1 PC

Aaron S., Newegg
27 November 2015
  • Pros: The rental version is arguably better than the full box version as it auto updates to the latest available software, and is reasonably priced when you compare the cost per year of running a what will soon be outdated version 2013 etc 2 or 3 years from now.
  • Cons: Newegg is not the place to buy Digital Software. Normally, users who purchase a "Digital" product version are doing so to have instant access to DL and begin using the product. With Newegg? Not at all. I waited several hours for an activation code, which even after calling their customer support ...

New Version Is Terrible

ARMANDO V., Newegg
19 November 2015
  • Summary: I own every type of Operating system and I have used countless word processors. Microsoft used to posses the best software on the market, but have since taken a massive step down. Even though Apple is a competing company, that is no excuse to put out shoddy software.
  • Pros: - Compatibility with most online form submissions and documents - Synergy with OneDrive is nice
  • Cons: On Mac: - Significant lag - Invisible text entry - unexpected crashes / hangs - Often unable to save until you attempt to close a word document - Excel is unbelievably slow (worse than before) - Arrangement of graphical errors and display bugs - Changing tabs (e.g. "Home", "Insert", "Page Layout"...

No customization ... just a cluttered interface.

Edward K., Newegg
11 November 2015
  • Summary: Upgrading is needed in order to open others' files. But I am thinking to just convert and/or print to PDF to save - then I no longer have to upgrade to share info.
  • Pros: Older versions are better.
  • Cons: The 2016 Outlook interface (view) is very cluttered and cannot be customized. The Outlook profile cannot be customized and the Office install cannot be customized. Other Office suite products expect user to memorize all the icons and hidden arrows - just plain dysfunctional and will probably chan...

A 3-legged mutt with fleas

Matthew N., Newegg
3 March 2015
  • Summary: I've been using Office since the late 90's, and I figured it was time to upgrade my Office 2007. I contacted Microsoft support twice in 5-days. When I couldn't reinstall Office after the repair failed, M$ wanted me to pay for advanced support to figure out the problem.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Drab modern GUI is difficult to read, even with healthy eyes. The GUI reminds me of CGA grade graphics, just in HD. Outlook constantly crashed when saving or sending emails. Tried to repair the installation, and it removed all applications and won't allow me to reinstall them. Outlook calendar on...

User Review

Mark P., Newegg
22 December 2014
  • Summary: The bad thing is that I had an old version of office (2003) that I used for work and when I was having issues downloading office 365, one of the support team members was remote accessing my computer to figure out what was wrong and told me they thought the problem was the old version of office and...
  • Pros: Don't Know, Ordered software 3 days ago and Microsoft is unable to get it to download to my system.

Do All You Can to Avoid MS Help

Ronald K., Newegg
3 December 2014
  • Summary: Product is okay, but DO ALL YOU CAN TO ENSURE A CLEAN INSTALLATION BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT GET GOOD HELP THROUGH THEIR SERVICE DESK
  • Pros: Ordering thru NewEgg went fine - product code worked for download, etc.
  • Cons: Microsoft procedural steps UNCLEAR - if you have a prior differant version, be sure to UNINSTALL before loading the new version, otherwise your old version will stay active until they lock you out. Then you have to deal with the Microsloth helpless desk (which I have been talking to for the past ...

Waste of time

Jeremy W., Newegg
12 May 2014
  • Pros: Got the product code via email fast.
  • Cons: Product code didn't work. Wasted over an hour trying to contact Microsoft support. Gave up, and ran to a local retailer and purchased a physical copy.

save your money ....

Donald G., Newegg
31 March 2014
  • Pros: I'm a 3-decade user of word and bought a family pack (2010) last year for $150. However, Microsoft always makes installation and update difficult or impossible. I started using Libre Office (Note: this is where the best Star Office and Open office coders work now) in 2012 and recently came to wor...

Do NOT Buy

Douglas G., Newegg
28 January 2014
  • Summary: This is the second time I have been burned trying to recommend this product for my small business customers. I will NEVER try this product again.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Cannot activate product even with hours on the phone with MS tech. Constant run around & wasted time. Cannot get refund due to download software agreement. Save yourself the headaches. Not worth the time.
