Summary: Editing my review now that I have finally gotten everything installed and working. If you buy a download I recommend scanning the paper they send to save the barcode before you submit a rebate. Also save your invoice. Upgrading from win7 to win10 broke mine.
Pros: When it is working it is definitely a nice Blu-Ray player. And it is working on Win 10.
Cons: Bad instructions or no instruction on how to actually get the product you paid for. And if you don't get the correct one and somehow manage to figure out how to unlock it. The unlock code is used where it asks for a serial number but it is not the real serial number. If you do not unlock correctl...
Summary: After spending 2 nights after dinner and finally figure out how to install it. Here is the detail steps: 1. Go to corel.com, login with an acct. You won’t be able to activate it later if you download before you login. 2. Select from Product in Home page, go to WinDVD Pro 11, download Trial.
Pros: It works well if you can figure out how to install/activate/upgrade it
Cons: It shall not be this hard to figure out how to install/activate/upgrade it
Pros: It's a great program. Good picture and sound quality. I've no complaints in this area. The 3 Egg rating is because I feel that the lack of availability of a win8.1 version presents a serious drawback for a large number of customers.
Cons: Will NOT run on Win 8.1. There is an update to make it win8 compatible but it doesn't affect win8.1. I run a dual boot machine with win 7 and 8.1, and had to install the program under the win7 OS to get it to work.
Summary: Thanks to Mark S. for posting the correct download link. I had suspected the download link on the card was incorrect, but was not ever able to get this resolved. I'm glad I didn't throw the card away, since it was worthless until now.
Pros: If you can get it working, it does play blu-rays. Getting it working was the hard part. My old software couldn't reliably play new titles anymore. The interface and playback of this software is only marginally better than some of the free methods you can use for blu-ray playback, but it has relia...
Cons: The download link on the card directs you to the trial version. I spent several unsuccessful hours with Newegg support trying to figure this out after Christmas. I had given up on this and forgot about it until I saw it on sale for free just now (after rebate).
