Summary: I hope this is not typical of Corel's support, but I'm now deeply wary of products under the Corel umbrella. This experience taints my view of the way this company does business. I wil follow up if things change. I was not treated this way by InterVideo, WinDVD's former owner.
Pros: A good deal. Simple. A card, complete with link, containing the serial number. Download & install. What could be easier? Arrived in a timely manner.
Cons: After installation, the first thing it asked me to do was download the patch (WinDVD Pro 11 SP4). I did so. (note: no registration). After that any time a disc (CD, DVD, Blu-Ray) was put in the drive with the program running, -or- when a choice was made to autoplay using WinDVD, it died and Windo...

Summary: I would highly suggest looking at alternatives, including free software online. Terrible experience here
Pros: None so far
Cons: Non-functional and NO tech/product support. At this price there should be some way to contact the developer for tech support. I've pretty darn tech savy and tried to Google issues with this product and read a lot of forums but could not get anything other than a blank box when opening the program...
Summary: I bought WinDVD a couple weeks back for $3. It is not worth $3, it is not worth free, I wouldn't take ti if you paid me $3. You will waste hours of your life trying to get it to work.
Pros: Seems to play DVDs OK.
Cons: You will waste hours of your life trying to get this to work. DVDs play fine, but when you put a BluRay in it tells you you have to download an update. The update quietly uninstalls the original version and then fails to install. Eventually you reboot your machine and then spend 5 minutes looking...
Cons: WinDVD Pro 11 worked okay until thirty days after it was installed. Now all that happens is a window appears stating trial period has expired. Corel support page suggests downloading again and inserting key code, but that does not work either. After thirty days Corel support charges support fees....
Cons: garbage interface with garbage customer support. wouldn't recommend to anyone. cheaper to buy a stand alone player than deal with this trash. the product card sends you to a try before you buy link, there is no place to enter the product key on the card, as soon as time runs out you get redirecte...
Summary: After several emails back and forth with tech support (email support only!) I was asked to remove my Comodo antivirus and the WinDVD, restart, reinstall WinDVD and see what happens. WinDVD appears to install, but when I go to launch the program, all I get is a splash screen then nothing. No error.
Pros: none, it has yet to get beyond a splash screen before terminating itself. Did come with 30 days tech support from Corel.
Cons: Several re-installs, patches etc it will not work on my machine.
