Missing Activation Code - Poor Customer Service
Denise H., Newegg
28 August 2012
Summary: Right after getting the software I sent Newegg an email letting them know the activation code was missing. They responded with a list of things they needed and the additional input that I could contact Corel directly for help. (They even supplied a link).
Pros: No pros, because after owning the software for 5 days I am still unable to use it without an activation code.
Cons: Without the activation code the product is unusable.
Cons: Wiped my hard drive and when I tried re-installing this program it kept telling me the serial number was invalid, can't install it again. Waste of money!!! No support from Corel I bought it over 90 days ago!
Summary: I've experimented with photoshop and will admit it's a powerful piece of software but it takes time and training. 90% of what can be done in photoshop can be done with paintshop pro at a fraction of the price and without months of training!
Pros: easy to use, can do most editing tasks, fun to make hdr photos, works with layers and raw files which is a big plus at this price point. Bought this during a sale for next to nothing (assuming my rebate comes through!)
Cons: I was first introduced to PSP 7 and was using PSP 9 before upgrading to X4. I actually miss the old layout and window color scheme. Also, sometimes instead of simply giving an error, the whole program decides to crash when you try to do something unintended like hdr merging tiff files.
Pros: The price, it's much much cheaper than Adobe's products, and you have all your basic photo editing needs met here.
Cons: Every single Adobe product out there is better, if you are looking for a cheap alternative to PhotoShop, this is it, but it is just not even half as good, you have most of the basic features available here, but if you want to take your editing just a tad beyond the very basics, you need to buy ph...
Cons: I have a screaming fast machine I use mostly for video editing. It never lets me down. This software however freezes constantly. Clearly a problem the latest service pack hasn't fixed. Maybe it's a windows 7 thing. Just bought Photoshop Elements to replace it. What a waste a time and money.
Summary: Product opens fine, but hangs up as soon as you try and do anything with it. OS: Windows 7 64-bit.
Pros: Works good, until it stops working.
Cons: Customer service is a joke. In order to even get into "customer service" it says that your registered product isn't registered and when you try and re-register it you recive a new message that it's already registered.
