Summary: Absolutely LOVE this software! I own X2 & the newer X3 and they are the two pieces of software I miss the most after transitioning to Mac. Simple, as powerful as Photoshop CS4, and very easy to learn.
Pros: Nearly all operations are easier to accomplish than in Photoshop. Tons of scalable 1 click fixes (skin smoothing, chromatic aberration removal, teeth brightening, exposure, batch operations, etc). All the benefits of Photoshop AND Lightroom, in 1 program. Low cost.
Cons: Far fewer online tutorials than Adobe products
Summary: Fantastic software, I never bother with Photoshop anymore.
Pros: I use this software daily, and it blows Adobe Photoshop Elements away which is a similar price to this package, and even comes very close in features to the fully featured version of Photoshop which costs many times the purchase price of this. I've been using PSP since version 4, (mid 90's), to t...
Cons: It requires quite a fast CPU and lots of memory to do some of the advanced features of the software. If you just want to restore and touch up photos, etc. then it will run fine on even the minimum specs listed fine, but for complex creations, a 2.5ghz CPU and 4gb RAM minimum is what I'd recommend...
Summary: This is a great program. HELP files are very good. You will be doing some amazing photo editing in no time with this package. You can download a free trial from Corel, but buy from Newegg.
Pros: You get a lot for your money. If you are looking for serious photo editing, this package has a lot to offer. Most Photoshop plug-ins work. If you want to do 'artistic' things to you photos like borders, signatures, color changes, sepia, newspaper or chrome...etc. this package has that.
Cons: RAW support is limited. A few of the very advanced features cannot be accomplished with 16 bit TIFF. Only uses a single processor for most of it's tasks (note, quite a few of it's competitors only use a single proc too.).
Summary: I don't know diddly squat about photo editing--yet! I hear Adobe Primiere is better, but Adobe always seems to have a massive learning curve. You can pretty much jump right in with this thing. From what I can see, as my knowledge on photo editing grows, this product will be up to the task.
Pros: Very powerful photo editor. Lots of opportunity to expand my photo editing knowledge base with this product. It actually FOCUSED a fuzzy picture I was about to trash. Cool effects, too.
Summary: I couldn't possibly write a review describing how pleased I am with this product, especially at its price. I knew that there must be a happy medium between the outrageously expensive Adobe Photoshop CS line and my frutsrating experiences with GIMP (though the latter is an admirable and full-featured...
Summary: I upgraded from XI to X2 due to XI to the software flaws in XI. The flaws were that XI was constantly crashing when using the move, selection and text functions using both the side bars and the key stroke shortcuts.
