Summary: This Apple software is very affordable with a nice User Interface. It lets you browse quickly through your images, marking the good ones to keep vs. the images that are not worth keeping. It works equally well with RAW and JPG files and allows you to make many, and a good variety of corrections to your images.
Pros: Great Features, Simple Controls
Cons: Missing panoramic feature, Ranking Photos is clumsy
Summary: As a hobbyist, I find this product more versatile than iPhoto, especially its metadata abilities. With a photo library spreading over ten years and several continents there is simply no other way to catalogue and file all the images but by using professional software. I compared it with a similar product by another manufacturer and found Aperture easier to navigate and more intuitive. Moreover, Aperture 2 is less expensive.
