How to unslow LR or Photoshop
Kenneth F., Newegg

Summary: I saw that review that called LR slow. ALL Adobe products demand the fastest of hardware setups with a little bit of Adobe understanding. I don't want to insult high end guys, but a lot of our arty brothers don't have a hardware fetish. Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.
Pros: Great overall software...
Cons: If your machine isn't properly configured it is slow as molasses... LR and the rest need special feeding and are great pieces of software with a lot of study and tutorials. Scott Kelby has a lot of tutes and of course Adobe...
Summary: This is the photographer's dream of a photo-editting software. Trust me, if you want to make a huge difference in your photographs, this is the software for you! I did not buy Lightroom from Newegg. I ordered it from Adobe. But it's been extremely amazing.
Pros: I've decided to write a review of Lightroom 3, seeing as there is only 14 total reviews aside from this one now. This program is completely amazing. It does everything you need and more for your photos. There are so many different ways to edit them, and so many features that it's definitely the b...
Cons: Basically, not too many. - It is a little pricey. (Though very-well-worth it.) - Takes a while to get used to. - If you don't turn off the auto-import feature it can get annoying at times.
Pros: Great software for quick editing and categorizing photos. Lightroom is software for the pro photographer and probably why it is pricy. But so much of the editing of photos are done with in Lightroom. Seldom have to change program to do more in depth editing.
Summary: If you dont want to learn photo touchup and developement techniques, Lightroom will do much automatically. If you are an amature (one who loves a non-professional field) or a professional, Lightroom is an absolute must have. You gotta love Adobe. They are masters in thier field.
Pros: Easily "develope" your images to what seems like perfection immediately your first try. AND... The more time you are willing to spend, the more treasures are hidden within to tweak good results out of even poor images.
Cons: None. (Wish I had waited for Black Friday at Newegg)
Pros: Just got it, within the 1st 1/2 hour I fixed old photos that were in bad shape. Im talking old scanned photos. I have elements8 and was pleased with it. LR3 is just lightyears better. I havent even scratched the surface and Im loving this. If you have photos in need of repair, I highly recommend ...
Summary: If you shoot RAW I think Lightroom is a must. The grad filters, noise reduction and file management is well worth an upgrade if you already have LR2. If it had cloning, healing and skewing tool I wouldn't even need Photoshop.
Pros: Grad filters, Pre sets, great file management and ease of use.
