Powerful, but flawed

Bob R, B&H Photo
28 May 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought this product because Aperture (Apple's competing product) was so slow to offer support for the Nikon D4S. When Lightroom arrived, I had high hopes. Lightroom installation went well. But as soon as I tried to use it, I began experiencing problems. If I didn't have anything to compare Lightroom to, I might like it better. However, having used Aperture for the last decade, I found it very difficult to transition to Lightroom.
  • Cons: File Storage, Interface, Limited Upgrade Potential, Navigation, Not Intuitive

  • Excerpt: Product didn't synch will with the new Windows system. It keeps wanting to set up everytime I open a picture. I will need to call Adobe and get it set up right when I find the time. I wouldn't think of loading on my Mac after the PC disapointment. Disapointed!

Photoshop Lightroom 5

Nick-san, B&H Photo
7 March 2014
  • Excerpt: I've tried several photo editing software and this one is no different from the others. I uninstalled it soon after I installed it. For me they are very difficult. I started out with Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album 5 and it did everything I wanted it to and was very easy. By upgrading my computer it eventually would not recognize the old software, so I went looking to upgrade my software and am still looking for one that I understand.
  • Cons: Poorly Designed

Worst Software

Edenshare, Office Depot
10 February 2014
  • Excerpt: This software is not user friendly. The background of the screen is a dark gray and cannot be changed. I do not recommend this software. I was a Photoshop user before, expected something similar and got much worse. Don't waste the money on this one.
  • Cons: screen too dark

No working. Adobe Cust. Srvc is horrible

rmankini, B&H Photo
1 October 2013
  • Excerpt: I purchased LR5 2 weeks ago, not only is there a horrible color cast. But I have spent 3 hours on the phone with Adobe customer service with 2 different people and they can't find the problem. The elevated the "case" and I'm getting people who want to start all over again with trouble shooting I've already done 3 or 4 times. I am beyond frustrated!! Adobe customer service is horrible.

  • Excerpt: Have used Adobe Photoshop for years and found LightRoom 5 clunky, hunky, not to my liking. I gave it away to a neighbor who couldn't afford purchasing it himself.

Lightroom 5 - If I were you, I'd WAIT!

Out-needless-money, B&H Photo
5 July 2013
  • Excerpt: I use Lightroom daily for my photos. It is an awesome package. However, the cost for the minimal changes to Lightroom 5 is, in my opinion, not worth it. Lightroom 5 is just a tiny upgrade to Lightroom 4. Key word here... "tiny.
  • Pros: Accurate Colors and Controls, Easy To Navigate
