Good Product

  • Pros: If you are looking for an above average photo program this is a good one. It is capable of much more then most need for a photo editing program. One of the better recent releases for Elements.
  • Cons: None

Offers a lot but there can be bumps

john s., Newegg
20 May 2012
  • Summary: I use both elements and "pro" versions of both products for different purposes and depending upon need. The elements catalog is my favorite feature as with some upfront effort you can easily create multiple slices of images/movies, which facilitates sharing.
  • Pros: Both photo and film editing programs offer a lot of features. Catalog supports photo and video and is a powerful organizer. Facial recognition pretty good. Photo editing is solid with easy support for layers and other features that protect original pix. Video editing much faster than prior versio...
  • Cons: Occasionally crashes, but was a problem more when first migrating to new catalog...turning off some of the autosearch features helped. Getting more and more expensive. Constant push to online archive and other features which are not that great (e.g., 2 gigs of online backup vs. size of photo/vide...

  • Pros: Value in a combo saving
  • Cons: Really, either go for the full version or try other software, the "element" is really not my thing...

Worth the upgrade for me, but just barely

Anonymous, Newegg
11 April 2012
  • Summary: I've used PSE v2, 3, 5 and now 10. Versions 2 and 5 were bundled with hardware I bought, so I've only purchased versions 3 and 10, both when available at substantial discounts (< $50).
  • Pros: Interface "better behaved" under Windows 7 64-bit than PS:E v5, which was the previous version I had. Some new features (since v5) that I'm looking forward to experimenting with (such as the content-aware mode for the spot healing brush). I like the ability to download and install the full progra...
  • Cons: Each new version is bigger and more bloated that the one before. I like the document tabs above the editing window (new since v5), but they can't be rearranged. I wish Adobe would bring back the New/Open/Save/Save As icons below the Menu bar; there's plenty of room to insert them to the left of t...

Everything I need to get the job done

Anonymous, Newegg
21 December 2011
  • Summary: I'd give it 5 stars except that it appears that to continue using the software I've paid for beyond 30 days I have to create an Adobe ID and register using that. I'm not marrying you, Adobe, just paying you for a license to use PE.
  • Pros: Photoshop has always been the leader and this little brother, Elements, does everything I need at a reasonable price.
  • Cons: Box comes with way too much junk to toss out, very old school packaging with lots of advertising inserts and a second CD with trial software that would just clutter my drive. Made me chuckle and reminisce about the 90's! I guess that's how they keep the price down. The Organizer application that'...

Would love it if I could find the user manual

  • Summary: My initial experience was positive with the product doing very basic changes like cleaning up marks on negatives. Have not yet used it heavily but it is obviously much better than other basic packages or incorporated parts of Windows.

Good but Expensive

Farya Pirbazari, Amazon
5 May 2012
  • Summary: After years of working with Adobe Photoshop, I decided to check out the concise version of it, Photoshop Elements. I found it pretty much enough for amateurs, but still very expensive. Adobe has to think twice about the prices..
