Summary: I ordered this on amazon because I wanted the special edition. However, after opening it, I found that it was just the regular version of the game and did not contain the special edition extras (as listed in the product description). I am very displeased and expect to get my money back.
Summary: Just purchased XCOM: Enemy Unknown [Special Edition] - PC. Maybe I'm naïve but I did not expect to have to sign up with Steam to play the game. Had I known this I would not have purchased the game. Amazon should know that being a member of Steam is a requirement and made it very clear that you may pay for the game but only play at the pleasure of Steam. As far as I can tell I have to be online to play.
Summary: I bought XCOM: EU a few weeks ago. After playing several missions without problems, the program now crashes all the time. Either at start-up or during game play. The Steam forum is full with similar complaints about both EU and EW. Funnily enough the price has dropped significantly from 29.99 a few weeks ago ( when I bought it ) until 9.99 now. Makes you wonder....
Summary: I bought this game for 4.99 through a NewEgg Promo. Total waste of money. I would even let NewEgg give me 4.99 back to play it. In other thoughts, NewEgg sent the product code and transaction was as smooth as butter, this is nothing bad on NewEggs part. It's just a bad game.
Pros: I can't thin of any pro's. This game is terrible. Chewing on a rock would be a better idea than playing this game.
Cons: Imagine an FPS installed on a checkerboard and you get XCOM. The game dynamics aren't dynamic at all.
Summary: My score for this product is based mainly on its value (i.e. what you get for what you pay). The content of this DLC really should have been included in the game. I suppose there may have been time constraints so it couldn't be included as such, but regardless this supposed "DLC" is worth $2 at most.
