Summary: I waited a long time to play this game due to it's buggy release. I told myself the reviews were only bad because because of the bugs. 40 hours in and feeling frustrated and hurt trying to force myself to love this game it's just not working. I am sad to say. I wanted to build an empire. I wanted to wage war. I wanted to own the universe. This is not that game. I wish I could give this game a good review but I cannot.
Summary: i was anticipating that the bugs reported in all reviews on the net where slowly dissapearing after some months. Hate to say that this is not the case and this is an unplayable piece of software i deinstalled after playing for less than an hour. DO NOT BUY!
Summary: A terribly disappointing release that seems to freeze or crash in a different way each time it's played. In scale it might be compared to Skyrim, with its impressively large playable area, but X Rebirth lacks any significant diversity within that space. A small handful of NPC models are cut and pasted throughout identical locations. Even when unique characters are encountered, their dialog is confused and poorly voice-acted.
Summary: A reboot of the X franchise that risks killing it off. Throwing out the tried and true features that past players liked, Rebirth has some truly incomprehensible design decisions that should never have made it out of brainstorming sessions. First off, the cockpit view which some people wanted is so horribly implemented that it obscures the field of view, and it is off-center to the ship as a whole.
Summary: I love(d) the old X games, they are just very good games - this one however is a little disappointing. The game feels like they changed the target audience to sell to the mass market and got away from those of us that liked the old versions. If you want a far less complicated game that the average gamer can figure out, then you will most likely like the game - if you are looking for the old X type games (very in-depth - and as complicated as you want to make it) this...
One of the worst games I've played and I'll explain why...

Summary: By this point there's no need to detail all the horrible things about this game as so many others have said as well as I can ever hope to. Suffice to say, this is the worst game I think I've played, but please understand I measure that not by the overall quality necessarily, though of course this game falls dramatically short in just about every category a game can offer.
Summary: Very different from the other X games but thats not bad. You have one cool ship and you even get out of it from time to time. You can upgrade different aspects of the ship. The combat it tight and much more fast paced then the other X games. Also you finally get a cockpit view which was something always missing. Game was buggy at first but after the patches it is a much smoother game now a must buy for scifi fans.
Summary: I got this game the day it came out on the us market. This game is very good. At first there were a lot of bugs to be worked out that made the game hard to play but after many fixes it is getting a lot better. I have played over 190 hours and I am still in the early stages of the game where with other games I would be finished and tired of it already. This game is one you can get into and play for well over 500 hours before you even can call yourself a pro.
