Gamers command thousands of soldiers and are supported by tanks, air fighters and bombardiers during the three week dramatic fight around the Ardennes forest. The game allows players to lead divisions against the Germans. World War II: General Commander offers the player a new combat systems, scale and supply management. It provides users with the opportunity to simulate the Blitzkrieg, the army movements as it was in the WWII; the combats distance, the map scales and the supply dependency to recreate a game scenario that is as accurate as it can get for Real Time Strategic videogames.

World War II: General Commander is a real-time strategy game published by Matrix for the PC and features real scale 3D maps, with graphics and fx that brings war strategy with a mix of scale, combat dynamics, and force management. The game also features rules and controls that simulate Germany's famous last Blitzkrieg from either side. It lets gamers evaluate the tactical situation while monitoring overall strategy over real scale 3D maps, and creates a command experience from defending a single town to the full campaign stretching hundreds of miles and involving all the historical forces. Other features on the game include: an intuitive control system that allows both wargaming veterans and beginners to the genre to immediately pick up the game; allow users to attempt a last ditch offensive or defense across 14 scenarios including famous engagements like Bastogne and Operation Nordwind; fight with 3D units; comes with a full scenario editor to create new battles – scenarios can then be used as multiplayer engagements; realistic operational maneuvers and formations; multiplayer support that lets gamers face off against other commanders in real time; allow them to set rally points and withdraw areas to slowly draw down a defensive position and delay the enemy before the next line of defense; order air strikes and air superiority missions to turn the tide of any engagement; realistic weather patterns visible on the map that effect efficiency and air operations and lets gamers issue orders at the Battalion, Regiment or Divisional levels.
