The New Order - Good FPS game with 2 minor flaws.
12 December 2015
Excerpt: I'll start off with the cons first, it's a short list to cover. First, it really is irritating to watch all the intros that you can not skip. (Without messing around with game files, there's an command as well for Steam launch but that didn't work for me) Second thing is, even on SSD's the loading...
Short but sweet shooter that harks back to the glory days of Quake
25 November 2015
Excerpt: Wolfenstein: The New Order (TNO from here on out) is a FPS that tries to, and mostly succeeds in, emulating the gameplay and feel of the original Doom and Quake. That means lots of guns with lots of ammo and lots of cannon fodder to expend said ammo on; big boss fights; health and armor pickups...
Summary: As a Wolfenstein fan who has purchased and played every version released since Wolfenstein 3D from the old ID days, I enjoyed the game and storyline. Yes, it's a bit weak at points, but I still found it entertaining and fun to play.
Pros: Single player FPS that carries on the tradition of the original Wolfenstein series of games. Decent graphics and storyline.
Cons: Play is pretty linear. Free-roaming around the environment is extremely limited and the bosses are not the brightest. Everyone else has already mentioned the long installation time.
Summary: I assumed that I would be able to play this game because it was on DVD. Had I realized that it was a steam game (no mention of this in writeup) I would NOT have purchased it at all. Oh well anther $35.00 down the drain. I only gave this 1 egg because I had to. None would have been my choice.
Summary: You'll have to find the rest of the system requirements elsewhere because Newegg didn't think you needed to know that this game won't run on anything less than a serious gaming PC
Pros: It's Wolfenstein, what's not to love?
Cons: The Specification tab for this Newegg product listing says nothing about minimum system requirements, but now that I've purchased this game I see that the package clearly indicates that an i7 processor and 64 bit Win 7 or Win 8 is required. That's probably why after loading all four installation ...
Summary: Exciting and challenging! Great graphics and sound effects. Not sure if I like all the daily interaction with "Steam" though on my PC and the cinematics are tedious and boring. You can't cancel those like previous episodes so you have to sit though them and it's a pain, hence only 4 stars.
