Summary: I gave this game a 3 star rating simply because even though it was advertised to work on windows XP, for some reason it will NOT load, although it works on previous versions of windows ( 95,98 2000, ME etc). The reason I can come up with is that because wolf 3d was originally a DOS game, prior version of windows have a DOSSHELL (for those that are computer techies). Windows XP does NOT have a DOSSHELL therefore the game won't load.
Summary: I cut my pc game eyeteeth on Wolfenstein 3D, Spear of Destiny, Duke Nukem 3D, original Doom, and so on.... Return To Castle Wolfenstein was so advanced from the original, I was surprised how much the game had retained its 'flavor'... But, Wolfenstein takes a step back, with the annoying gameplay I've come to associate with second rate game developers...
Summary: This is a decent game. It doesn't have as much replay value as Return to Castle Wolfenstein, mostly because some plot elements are so cliche you don't care to suffer through them twice (the femme fatal for example). I also don't much care for BJ turning into a Magic oriented superhero. The whole concept of previous Wolfenstein games was he relied on his skill more than "magic" like abilities. Some of the magic skills, however, were fun as hell.
Summary: This one does seem a little dated these days what with all the other stuff out there...but the prices have dropped and I added it to the old collection and all in all a solid three stars...it has its good points for a sandbox and with the cost factored in (it almost cost more to ship it than the item itself) not a bad deal.
Summary: Playing the campaigns give a good experience. Graphics and game play are pretty good. However, online play is a major disspaointment. If you primarily play online I would not suggest buying this game.
Summary: The single player in my opinion is fun and the storyline is good, very similar to RTCW. However where this new Wolfenstein fails is the multiplayer. There's lots of discussions on the wolf forums about keeping true to RTCW/ET and "progressing". Personally I thought that RTCW/ET was some of the best multiplayer ever. I loved the objective based combat with different classes on maps that progressed as one side completed an objective.
Summary: I'm an old Wolfenstein-Doom-Quake fan from way back, but this one disappoints in SP mode. I haven't played much of the game yet primarily because of the new automatic save feature. When I'm ready to get up and eat dinner, watch a TV program, or go to bed, I want to save the game right there at that point in time, not some auto-save five minutes ago.
Summary: This is not a great game. It is a good game, and it is certainly fun, and has a few moments of awesomeness. It stays true to its Wolfenstein roots, so if you're a fan of the rest of the games, you'll enjoy this game. If you've never played a Wolfenstein game, you should definitely pick this up! Halo isn't out, and are you really going to play Madden (I didn't think so, sports games suck), so this is a perfect filler game.
