WildStar is the most complete MMO I've seen in a long time

GameZone
  • Excerpt: Following yesterday's PAX Panel , I told my co-worker that WildStar is launching as one of the most in-depth, complete MMOs I've seen in quite some time. In a time when most MMOs are launching with the bare bones minimum and getting new features through content patches month after release, WildStar is releasing with what I believe is the great portfolio of diverse player gameplay options, particularly when it comes to end-game content.

PAX East 2014: WildStar Arena battles are f*cking awesome

GameZone
  • Excerpt: The first day of PAX East 2014 in the city that lives strong, Boston, was yesterday. The cosplayers were out in full force. There was a man with a mustache and a saxophone playing "I'm Never Gonna Dance Again" by George Michael, and my feet hurt because I wore Converse, which, in hindsight, wasn't a smart choice. And you know what else was there? Carbine Studios, who were showing off their upcoming sci-fi MMORPG WildStar.

WildStar: Interview with Design Director Mike Donatelli about development, housing, gear, guilds and end-game

GameZone
19 March 2014
  • Excerpt: At a press event for WildStar two weeks ago, I was able to sit down and have a quick chat with Carbine Studios' Design Director of WildStar , Mike Donatelli. It was very impromptu, about 15-20 minutes long, but we were able to speak a lot about what WildStar will be to different MMORPG players, the development process, housing, gear and guilds. Lance Liebl: Thanks for taking time to talk to me today.

WildStar: Housing gameplay video and breakdown

GameZone
13 March 2014
  • Excerpt: Housing in an MMORPG really hasn't been done right since Star Wars Galaxies and Ultima Online . It should be much more than a feature added in just because. It should be the type of feature where you can login to the game for 30 minutes to an hour and do nothing except change stuff to your house. It's an escape in the MMO world. Luckily, after spending some time with the housing system in WildStar , I can happily say that they approach housing the right way.

WildStar PvP: Warplots gameplay video

GameZone
12 March 2014
  • Excerpt: Warplots. Huge end-game/Elder-game 40v40 PvP matches where you try to destroy the other team's base. This is what end-game PvP is all about in WildStar . After you join a Warparty, which is essentially a PvP guild where the leader and assigned ranks can customize and upgrade your Warparty Warplot (fortress), you can defeat other Warparties by blowing up the two generators in their base, or have them run out of energy, thus winning by energy attrition.

WildStar PvP Battlegrounds: Walatiki Temple gameplay

GameZone
12 March 2014
  • Excerpt: At a recent press event, I was able to experience PvP in Carbine Studios' upcoming MMORPG, WildStar . The one you see here is Walatiki Temple, a 'Capture the flag'-type Battlegrounds match. You can start playing this match at level six, and the spin on it is that instead of capturing flags, you're capturing masks. Make sure you defend your base though, because masks can be stolen back. It's fast and frantic, and player skill combined with teamwork really shines here.

WildStar preview: An MMO that I want to play with a controller

GameZone
2 November 2013
  • Excerpt: WildStar has been flaunting its active combat and colorful, light-hearted presentation at many a convention, and I finally had an opportunity to get my hands on it during this year’s New York Comic Con. As a more console-focused gamer, I’ve only dabbled in MMOs, but even I could spot the differences almost immediately. WildStar has many of the hallmarks of MMORPGs, but its combat seems inspired by character action games like Devil May Cry and God of War .

WildStar reveals the final two classes: Say hello to the Engineer & Medic

GameZone
18 August 2013
  • Excerpt: Throughout WildStar ’s pre-launch existence, the Carbine team has done an excellent job of keeping all their details shrouded in mystery. Between fan demands and website snooping, you’d think some things would leak over time. Nope. WildStar’ s reveals have been under their control with only morsels slowly fed to us. With the shouts from the fan base demanding more, WildStar has once again agreed to reveal some new information.

WildStar Preview: Taking what you think you know about MMOs and adding a unique spin

GameZone
15 July 2013
  • Excerpt: After getting my hands on Carbine’s MMO WildStar , I can definitely say there is a whole lot going on in this game. Though playing a level 25 character without any previous gameplay experience, WildStar is quite overwhelming. By no means do I mean this in a negative light though; if anything, it is a tribute to what the game is going to be about. I like the depth, I like the potential, I accept the challenge.

PAX Prime 2013: WildStar wants to be a home for MMO players

GameZone
15 July 2013
  • Excerpt: WildStar has been on my radar ever since I first laid eyes on it back at PAX Prime 2011. Fast forward two years and it still remains one of my most highly anticipated MMORPGs. WildStar has certainly come a long way since it was first revealed two years ago, but the scope of the game has remained – one that is a “home for MMO players.” And based on what I was told at PAX Prime this weekend, it sounds like Carbine is catering to the traditionalists.
