Summary: Everyone knows the series such as Unreal Tournament, Command & Conquer and so on... But if I tell people what games I have played most since my dawn of PC gaming, most look completely spaced out when I tell them about this severely underrated game. I don't think it is a matter of not being good enough to compete with the more known series, but more about the sheer lack of being found Everyone knows the series such as Unreal Tournament, Command & Conquer and so on...
Summary: Good game, especially now that it's free. The artillery is overpowered that's the only downside. Otherwise, it's just great, if you don't want to spend any money download, install and play there is always someone online. It might be not easy to set up a server though if you are behind some routers or firewalls.
Summary: This game is a PC Legend, its a 3D 'legos with guns' real time strategy game that was way ahead of its time. The best part is that the license has been released to the open-source community so the game is still in development 13 years after its launch.
Summary: One free game, still some leftover updates. Custom built units with lots of upgrades is awesome for a first 3D RTS game. This game remains to have some leftover bugs. It's also one of the fewest RTS games that can change angles and turn the battlefield around at 360 degrees as well as the background shading in the click-and-drag box.
Summary: An amazing game! Sad the game developer 'Pumpkin Studios' died away with suck a well made game. Though old, this game was revolutionary. Its passing was quick and has been left without any attention. But, what RTS's allows you to build you own tanks? Have unlimited upgrades? Build your own planes? Build you own bases with a LARGE array of buildings and defenses? Warzone 2100 can. Plus for An amazing game!
Excerpt: Seems to me that the designers of this game were called into a board meeting one day and asked to produce the most generic real time strategy game they could. If that was the case then full credit to the team, as that is exactly what they've done Warzone 2100 takes place on a post apocalyptic world with various factions fighting each other for control of various resources.
Excerpt: In 2085 the world ended. In 2100 we emerged to build a new world. That's the idea of the game. The world was destroyed by nuclear war in the year 2085, well not completely destroyed... You survived, you start to build a base, getting oil for power and then you find other people survived too. You immediately start a war with them, you crush them easily. A few levels / missions later you discover some more, more powererful people have survived along with you.
Excerpt: To start with I don't actually own this product I bought it off my half brother. He suggested it, because he knew I loved strategy. He himself thought it was OK, and that I should give it a try. Upon playing it I'm giving the same if not a bit more pessemistic advice to you, my beloved reader (yeah right)! The game is set in, yep, you guessed it; 2100. Where the world has been wiped out by nuclear war, and hardly a trace of civilisation remains.
Pros: Good game, challenging, and you can design diverse units
Excerpt: TO BEGIN, I BOUGHT THIS GAME BECAUSE IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY A FRIEND AND IT LOOKED INTERESTING TO SAY THE LEAST. BUT WHAT I GOT FOR MY FEW QUID WAS AN EXCELLENT GAME THAT WAS ALMOST CONSTANTLY SOLID THROUGHOUT THE LEVELS. THERE ARE A TWO POINTS TO MARK OUT TO BEGIN WITH: 1) I WOULD SUGGEST A DECENT GRAPHICS CARD FOR THE VIDEO SEQUENCES AND WHEN THERE IS A LOT OF ACTION GOING ON IN THE GAME PLAY.
Pros: Game has decent graphics and excellent gameplay combined with originality .
Cons: Can get quite slow if your video card is not larger than 4Mb and the sound quality is just okay but not excellent .
Excerpt: warzone2100 is a C&C kinda game with the same role play and fimilure game play. I do have the game and play it when im bored but the game itself is a cheap virsion of dune with the future units and buildings. The level's you play are anoying and no fun at all. Playing against the computer is just as bad as playing it on your playstation.
Pros: you have more say in what units you want
Cons: slow and tiresome when haveing to find artifacts
