Warhammer 40k Space Marine

ablegamers.com
2 March 2012
  • Excerpt: Before I begin, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that you do not need to know anything about the Warhammer 40,000 universe before delving into Space Marine. I haven't read any of the books, played the tabletop game, or played the Dawn of War games and I still got plenty of enjoyment from Space Marine. The plot does a good job of explaining what needs to be explained as I never felt lost or confused about what was happening.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine Review Part 2: MultiPlayer (Windows PC)

Gamers Daily News
28 September 2011
  • Summary: Overall I had a lot of fun playing the campaign and will continue to play multiplayer well into the future. If you are a fan I may round up as THQ and Relic once again do an excellent job of immersing you in the world of 40k. If you are experience it for the first time this game will offer you a excellent journey with only a few flaws.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

ActionTrip
23 September 2011
  • Conclusion: The art direction deserves some praise, as does the developer's effort to stay true to the Warhammer 40k universe. There's no doubt that Space Marine has a potential to shine, but as it stands, Relic needs to rethink the concept behind it. The online class-based multiplayer is possibly the kind of fun we were expecting from the single-player in the sense that we expected similar choices.
  • Pros: A faithful rendition of the Warhammer 40k universe, looks and runs smoothly on most rigs, great music and voiceovers, a well-polished game, and great multiplayer which you're likely to get back to;
  • Cons: Story itself could've been better, the game cries out for more diversity just about in every aspect of gameplay, especially in single-player.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

DarkStation

  • Conclusion: Space Marine isn’t particularly a long game and could probably be beaten over a weekend. The game doesn’t really have a whole lot of content to go along with its full retail price but the single player campaign is extremely fun and is worth playing. Whether it’s a rental or buying the game Warhammer Space Marine provides some incredibly entertaining and violent action and an interesting look into the Warhammer universe.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

Cheat Happens
20 September 2011
  • Excerpt: Anyone who has ever played Warhammer 40k has dreamed of strapping on the Space Marine Armor and digging into a horde of Orks. To command a squad into battle, to rev up the chainsaw sword. THQ and Relic understand this and thus created Warhammer: 40k: Space Marine ; the most intimate and gritty look at the longstanding universe. Space Marine isn't perfect or innovative, but it is a fun and deeply satisfying new way to look at world that so many have been in for so long.

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine

The Gamers Temple
19 September 2011
  • Excerpt: If you told me a month ago I'd be delighted to review a Warhammer 40,000 video game, I'd have thought you were nuts. I have zero experience with the tabletop RPG, and the entire universe is still somewhat a mystery to me. But last month, I was asked to review the downloadable semi-prequel to Space Marine, Warhammer 40,0000: Kill Team, a dual-stick shooter that sets up the events of the main game.
