Will Not Play/Finish Installation
Ryan Sullivan, Amazon
21 June 2014
Summary: Downloaded twice. When I click "Play" I am given a product key, hit OK, a DOS window flashes for less than a second... and nothing. Game will not play, will not start, won't even ask for the product key it gave me. Waste of money and hours of download time/troubleshooting. And now it won't let me post a review on Steam because I "have played for less than 5 minutes." No kidding, that's the problem.
Summary: I WAS VERY EXCITED TO GET THIS GAME. BUT ALL IT DOES IS CRASH EVERY TIME I TRY TO PLAY IT. IVE FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO GET IT RUNNING NOTHING WORKS I WILL STAY AWAY FROM RELIC AND STEAM GAMES FROM NOW ON
Summary: Thought this would at least be useful to waste an hour or two. Well it did waste an hour or two - downloading it (kept getting corrupted) and trying to get it to run right (hasnt yet). Skip this one unless you like puzzles (trying to get it downloaded right and to run). Yes i got a good vid card, and something like 40m download speed and yes my computer is up to speed (dual core 4 gigs ram).
Summary: i am in afghanistan with a slow internet connection. after 10 days of attempting to download this game, it was finally completed. when i clicked on the file, my computer said it was corrupted and the download started again, i am not waiting another 10 days. i just bought the regular disk version. its on its way now...
Summary: I bought this game two weeks ago, I finished downloading it and now I have to run it through "steam" which means I have to download more updates and have all of this extra stuff with the game. I will NEVER EVER download a game from Amazon again. If I had known all of the extra hoops I had to jump through in order to play a downloaded game like this I would never have bought it.
Summary: The downloader doesn't work. Last time I bought a Digital game from Amazon, I was lucky that it was published by EA (Which meant I could install it using the EA downloader). This game, however, is published by THQ which doesn't have such a downloader. It's not THQs fault really. It's the fault of Amazon, the price was excellent but the problem is the Games & Software downloader which never works.
Summary: Do not buy a used copy. If you do and someone else has already registered it on Steam you are screwed. Steam support told me you can not third party transfer these games. If you buy it, you don't get a playable game, just a box, a book and a coaster.
