More Like Dawn of War 1.5

Joseph S. Finis Jr., Amazon
6 May 2011
  • Summary: My title has nothing to do with the storyline, but it has everything to do with the gameplay. The original Dawn of War was a successful RTS series. They kept the same formula and added new armies, new units, and just enough subtle changes to not take away from the game. Up until "Retribution," this series was doing the same, but with a focus on squads and tactics instead of building up power & requisition.

Same ole, same ole, still with limited troop cap

AbominogRE, Amazon
28 March 2011
  • Summary: I was looking forward to this expansion just as I did with Dawn of War 2 before it came out, especially since Dawn of War 1 was so cool and so near to the table-top version. retribution isn't bad, you get another army in the expansion which is Imperial Guard. Graphics are good as usual. The ONLY complaint I have with Retribution is (AND IT'S A BIG ONE) is they STILL are implementing the horrible squad cap.

I Wish Blizzard Made Every PC Game

Chris, Amazon
10 March 2011
  • Summary: I've only had this game for a couple of days and I'm already sick of it. The game play is pretty much the same as every other THQ RTS game. The game isn't really micro or macro intensive, it mostly just depends on the quality of your units and they're positioning. Battles are almost hilarious to watch because they don't require much control of the units, and each race has one unit with ridiculous health to tank damage.

Definitely not worth $30

RAF, Amazon
7 March 2011
  • Summary: I really looked forward to Retribution, I really did. I hoped that Relic would have taken the time to fix a lot of issues that were present in the previous two games. Unfortunately, they clearly didn't. A lot of problems that resulted from the There Is Only War Patch are still present - namely, the Tyranids' synapse system is broken, and there are still a lot of balance issues.

bad buy

ToastieSoldier, Play.com
22 May 2011
  • Conclusion: I got this game thinking I could continue straight on from the last, not only is that completely wrong but I'm playing as characters I killed in the last one. It doesn't support windows live so I can't import my save data, none of the playable characters are in this one and it contradicts itself.

Not as good as the other two

PLayGamer353, Play.com
22 May 2011
  • Conclusion: I bought this hoping it was going to be an extension of DoW II and DoW II Chaos Rising... I was sadly disappointed. Few hours play time, never went back to it. Still playing the previous titles on a regular basis.
